Great weather, new personal bests, and awesome family vibes at the latest Outlaw Diesel Super Series race.
"Recap of this past weekend's ODSS race at Scheid's Diesel Extravaganza brought much better weather than was at Beech Bend for PowerRam and Paint Chip. We made a change to the injectors by swapping in 200% nozzles vs the 400's that were in it to help from snuffing the charger at the line. Got the staging limiter working for PowerRam via the brake switch in the Minotaur tuning software, and wired it through the Wilwood pressure switch on the master cylinder. This helped a ton as we were having a hard time boosting at the line which sometimes would push the truck through the brakes and break the beams.
In qualifying, we set another personal best with a 6.791 in Q2 using just the spool jet. The first round of eliminations we turned on the 1st stage of giggle gas and the truck was really haulin' the 📬. Matt saw he was way ahead, let out around 2/3 track and crammed the brakes hard, still running a 7.166. Needless to say, we probably would have broke out if he didn't mash the brakes. Round 2 was another new PB with a 6.763, but lost to a 6.875 because Matt was still putting the Mayo on his 🥪
Paint Chip was 🪨 solid all weekend running 7.7X's, but in this race, every truck in the opposing lane was just a bit better. Ethan was sitting close to the top heading into eliminations, but drew one of his buddies Damon Yoder in round one and lost 7.74 to a 7.71. Damon ended up winning in the finals too.
Both trucks have a fair amount of momentum going into the next race at Edgewater Park in Cleves, OH in a couple of weeks. Those that follow us, feel free to stop by the pits next time and say hi. It's part of why we really enjoy diesel truck drag racing, and we try to help put on a great show for those that bring their families to watch all the racers. Of course I have to say thank you to and Sarah Maier for their hospitality Friday night for the 🍔 🌭 mac-n-cheese, and baked beans. DELICIOUS."
