Another quality master shower remodel finished in kingfisher
The old shower pan was installed incorrectly and was leaking out of the shower stall from the day it was finished.
They had used regular 1/2" sheetrock on the walls inside tge shower stall which was deteriorating, crumbling and growing black mold.
We demoed the entire shower to the studs and slab.
We sturated the area with a moldicide and Replaced the floor drain under the concrete so we can get a 100% confident proper seal on the new shower pan.
We lay 3 layers of 30 # tarpaper Under the new poly pan so it doesn't rub on the concrete from the expansion and contraction of the hot water.
We installed PermaBase water proof and mold resistant concrete board on the walls fastened with the proper corrosion proof screws
Then we siliconed all the seams and corners, applied a water proofing rubber type coating on the entire shower walls and floor.
We redesigned the bensh seat to have leg space underneath and it really accentuates the new river rock stone floor as it flows under the bench area.
A large 12x24 grey and white grained subway tiles on the walls with matching bullnose trim.
The soap niches and corner caddys we cut from solid white marble so the would have more shelf space and it eliminates any tile grout lines for a good seal and easy cleaning.
We added grab bars inside and out to help the retired couple to step over the curb with eaze and minimize any slipping or falling
We were able to salvage and reinstall the custom shower door.
