Rotting wood balusters, peeling paint, structure that had seen better days. Replaced it with composite decking and aluminum balusters — clean lines, low maintenance, built right.

This 1920s Cedar Rapids home started with a cellar door. At some point a small porch addition got built over it — stairs tucked inside, sitting on blocks. By the time we got here it was rotted through, siding falling off, door boarded up.

Now we’re in full addition mode!

Instead of fighting the old basement access, we framed brand new stairs right into the addition so everything flows clean and actually makes sense now. Soon we’ll have the stair section enclosed in too.

Framing’s up, Tyvek’s on, windows are roughed in, and this thing is starting to come alive.

Can’t wait to show the finished result.

That’s the thing about hardwood. It doesn’t just look better. It makes the whole space feel different!

Sometimes the best thing you can do is start fresh.

Large format light blue tile, soft white hex floors, frameless glass shower, black trim, recessed lighting, and a proper layout done to code.

Really happy with how this one came together.
