On May 30, 2003, Finding Nemo hit theaters.

23 years later, that iconic diver’s mask and its Sydney address are still hard to forget. And so are we.

At Salmons, our commercial divers have been working in and under the ocean for over 100 years. No animation. Just real work with real diving equipment.

And we couldn’t help but add that familiar address to one of our diver’s real-life masks just for fun. Happy Nemo Day🐟

We are proud to wrap up our marine construction project at The Cooper, Charleston’s newest 5-star waterfront hotel located at 📍176 Concord Street.

Our work helped bring the waterfront to life, including:
✔️ ADA-compliant marine gangway
✔️ 235’ of SF Marina floating docks
✔️ Custom IPE overlay and decking across the pier and pierhead
✔️ 125 custom IPE handrail posts
✔️ Marine electrical, fire protection, and potable water systems

We also:
✔️Removed an 80-ton mooring dolphin and H-pile catwalk at Union Pier
✔️Offloaded floating dock sections weighing up to 62 tons at Salmons Terminal

This is the kind of work that doesn’t always make the headlines but it’s what makes a project like this possible.

Salmons was proud to support the recent Lowcountry Maritime Society boat launch event alongside 100 students from First Baptist School of Charleston, SC, Haut Gap Middle School, Moultrie Middle School, and Ashley Hall.

The students started building 16 boats back in the fall and launched them on May 8 at Colonial Lake. That kind of hands-on learning is so important.

Our team helped on-site, moving the boats onto the deck and helping students safely in and out of the water.

Real pride in seeing these kids launch something they built with their own hands.

Special thanks to Brandon Clark, Director of Development and Educator at the Lowcountry Maritime School, for the work they are doing to keep maritime culture alive and inspire the next generation on the water. As a non-profit organization, the Lowcountry Maritime School is dedicated to helping educate youth in science, technology, engineering, art and math using boatbuilding and other maritime activities as its teaching platform.

And shoutout to our team members, Eniko Mwanga and Starke Salmons, for volunteering at the event!
