Not a bad view to start the workday. 🚀

Salmons Project Manager Kim Gissendanner captured this incredible early-morning view from Shipyard Creek as a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket lit up the sky over our terminal on its way to deliver cargo to the International Space Station.

Big cranes on the ground. A rocket overhead.

Just another morning on Charleston's working waterfront.

Most jobs happen above ground. Ours happen below the surface.

This is dark work in underwater commercial diving.

Ever wonder what the Salmons Terminal looks like at night?

Our crew is proud to host Dutra to our Terminal for their upcoming lower harbor maintenance dredging contract with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Headquarters.

Our Terminal is on Shipyard River for a reason. Whether you're tying up, loading out or mobilizing, we are here to help.

This month, we’re proud to celebrate Sam Gramer’s 4-year anniversary with Salmons.

Sam started with us as a commercial diver and has since expanded his role into marine construction as a crane operator.
From working below the surface to operating a crane above it, Sam brings skill, versatility and a willingness to keep learning to every job.

Our people. Our pride.

Salmons is proud to support ongoing marine construction led by Balfour Beatty US and McLean Contracting Company as they rebuild the I-95 bridges over Lake Marion in South Carolina.

Recently, our crew towed McLean’s barges from Charleston to the project site, awarded by the SCDOT.

We’re honored to play a hands-on role in this project that will help keep people and goods moving safely along the I-95 corridor.

Construction is expected to be completed in 2030. Read more: https://www.postandcourier.com/politics/lake-marion-i95-bridge-replacement-work/article_aa626c24-612d-4951-8e4e-9d92f034ebdb.html

Salmons was proud to sponsor and donate to the 12th Annual Par Fore the Clot Charity Golf Tournament hosted by the Bleeding Disorders Association of South Carolina (BDASC) in Greenville, South Carolina.

As a non-profit charitable organization, BDASC is a leading resource for those affected by bleeding disorders. They serve over 1800 individuals and 650+ families in South Carolina diagnosed with all types of rare genetic bleeding disorders.

There are an estimated 10,000 identified rare disorders, affecting 1 in every 10 Americans. More than three million Americans have bleeding disorders that prevent the blood from clotting normally. Currently, there is no cure.

We are honored to support local families experiencing this situation, reminding them that they are never be alone in their journey.

48 feet of boat. One heavy lift.

Our marine construction team recently partnered with Wounded Nature - Working Veterans to safely remove a 48-foot cabin cruiser from the water at the Salmons Terminal.

Our crew handled the lift, bringing the vessel from water to shore and clearing the way for Wounded Nature to complete demolition and proper disposal.

Wounded Nature is a nonprofit charity founded by veterans to provide veterans and boaters the opportunity to serve wildlife-critical coastal areas.

This is heavy work. This is work we’re proud to support. This is marine construction.

Check out Miller Marine’s latest project for our Salmons fleet: the tugboat, HAMER.

Currently, Miller Marine is progressing on multiple subassemblies, engines, coaming, deck components and house panels (pictured here).
