Marine construction doesn’t stop for holidays.

Labor Day is about honoring the people who put in the work that keeps our country running.

At Salmons, that means divers who work in zero visibility, crane operators who place massive steel with inch-by-inch precision, and crews who handle heavy marine construction in all conditions.

Here’s to the people who get the job done.

107 Years Strong.

In 1919, Harry V. Salmons founded Salmons Dredging Corporation. His son, Richard W. Salmons, carried the work forward.

In 1992, Richard W. Salmons Jr. took the helm and now Richard W. Salmons III is on deck.

Today, we're still Charleston’s oldest marine contractor — building and diving along the coast and inland waters of the Southeast.

Four generations. A century of hard jobs and harder hands.

Still standing. Still proud.

Abandoned boats? Not on our watch.

During a past partnership with the City of Charleston, SC Government, our crew helped remove abandoned boats from the Charleston Harbor helping clear the way for safer, cleaner waters.

At Salmons, we’re always proud to protect and preserve our coastlines.

Delivering Marine Infrastructure with Precision and Accountability⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

At Salmons, we don’t just get the job done—we get it done right. No excuses, just results.

We completed a full replacement of A-Dock at Charleston Harbor Marina, one of the largest marinas in the Southeast. This complex, months-long marine construction project was delivered ahead of schedule, with the kind of professionalism and attention to detail that defines our team.

Here’s what our client had to say:

"Salmons Dredging recently completed the full replacement of our A-Dock at Charleston Harbor Marina, and we couldn’t be more pleased. Their crew was professional, efficient, and completed a months-long project ahead of schedule with great attention to detail. Salmons is our trusted partner for large-scale dock inspections, repairs, and installations." - Loyd Weston, Marina Manager at Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina

Not every office sits on solid ground.

Our crews are assisting Sierras Construction, LLC with building a new waterfront Welcome Center at Salmons Terminal that will soon become the floating home base for the team at Safe Harbor Charleston City in Charleston, SC.

Positioned directly above the marina's floating docks, this one-of-a-kind structure will welcome guests while putting them just steps from the water at one of the Charleston area's premier waterfront destinations.

We're excited to help bring another unique waterfront project to life.

Stay tuned for more construction updates.
