Big things are happening at our Houston facility. The grade beams are in, and we are officially ready for the concrete slab pour on our new 40,000 square foot fabrication space. This expansion will give our Houston team even more capacity to keep delivering custom pressure vessels and heat exchangers our customers can count on.

It is exciting to watch our Houston, TX footprint and Team grow load by load and beam by beam. Every truck on this site represents the continued investment we are making in our people, our capabilities, and dour future.

In the latest episode of Forged in Focus, I sat down with Stephen Borg of The Vogel Group to talk about the issues shaping American manufacturing and the importance of making the industry’s voice heard in Washington.

Stephen reflects on this year’s STI/SPFA Congressional Fly-In, which brought a record number of members to Capitol Hill. We discuss how consistent outreach is helping manufacturers build stronger relationships with congressional offices and why those relationships matter.

We break down the complexities of tariffs, including how certain protections benefit domestic material suppliers while leaving some U.S. fabricators exposed to lower-cost imported equipment. We also discuss trade enforcement, the Steel Act and the industry’s need for greater certainty.

UPTHEHILL - Behind every successful shipment is a team working together to solve challenges every step of the way.🤝These two vessels may have shipped separately, but they'll ultimately become one complete piece of equipment once installed in the field. From sourcing specialized materials for a custom integral sight glass cover to coordinating with multiple project partners throughout the process, this project required constant communication, problem-solving, and precision. Between the collaboration within our team, suppliers, and project partners, we were able to deliver another complex project on schedule and proving once again that it's not just what we build, but HOW we do it. INTHEFIELD - Ward's Field Service Group recently completed our first field-erected API 650 storage tank at Stepan's operating facility in Eastern, NC. 👏 This project marked an exciting expansion of our field capabilities as it required controlled demolition, full tank construction, and seamless coordination within a live operating facility, all while maintaining an unwavering commitment to safety, quality, and ex*****on. Completed on time and on budget, this achievement is a testament to the hard work of our engineering, project support, and field teams. Definitely a milestone worth celebrating. 🎉Congratulations and a huge THANKS to all our teammates and partners for making this project a huge success!

In the latest episode of Forged in Focus, I sat down with Joe Rodriguez, Regional Quality Manager with IRISNDT, now part of APAVE, to talk about the world of non-destructive testing and why it plays such a critical role in industrial manufacturing.

Joe’s path into the industry started after serving in the Marine Corps, followed by training at The Ocean Corporation and a same-day job offer from IRISNDT. From there, he worked his way from level one assistant to level two technician, dispatcher and now level three and regional quality manager.

We dug into what NDT really is, how the ASNT certification system
works and why level one, level two and level three roles each matter in the field. Joe also breaks down the difference between radiography, ultrasonic testing, liquid penetrant, magnetic particle testing, visual testing and other methods used to help keep equipment, piping and pressure vessels safe.

Joe shares perspective on building a quality culture in the field, especially when inspectors are working under tight schedules, turnaround pressure and customer expectations. He explains why NDT professionals have to hold the line, tell the truth and understand that their work directly impacts the life and safety of the equipment being inspected.

We also get into digital radiography, code interpretation, the shortage of experienced level two technicians, workforce development, mentorship and why young people, veterans and those considering a technical path should take a closer look at NDT.
