DOWNTHEROAD - This carbon steel reclamation boiler is headed to West Virginia to take part in specialized production of Nylon which is used in various components in the engine bay of a car.๐Ÿš— While this design may look straightforward, it's projects like these that are a reminder that great fabrication isn't just about building to print, it is also about working with the customers to meet evolving needs. After approvals were returned, our team worked with the customer to extend the tube lengths by 8" to ensure the final product met their requirements. A huge THANKS to all our teammates and partners for making this project a huge success!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

โš ๏ธSAFETY SUNDAY...

Your voice matters! One of the most important safety tools on any job site isn't a piece of equipment, it's your voice.

Stop Work Authority (SWA)โœ‹gives every employee the right and responsibility to stop a task if something appears unsafe. Whether it's missing PPE, changing job conditions, equipment concerns, or procedures not being followed, speaking up can prevent an incident before it happens.

Most serious accidents begin with a warning sign that was overlooked or ignored. SWA helps break that chain by empowering employees to take action when something doesn't feel right.

If a task is stopped, the process is simple: pause the work, notify a supervisor, assess the situation, correct the issue, and only resume when everyone agrees it's safe to proceed.

Remember, using Stop Work Authority isn't about assigning blame, it's about protecting yourself, your coworkers, and the families counting on everyone to make it home safely.

Safety starts with seeing something, saying something, and doing something. ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ“ข๐Ÿ‘

INTHEFIELD - This is where field experience makes the difference.๐Ÿ™Œ The Ward Field Services Group replaced a drain nozzle on an autoclave, completing a repair that required cutting into the vessel and installing a 180-degree segment cone flush patch. Working underneath the vessel, the team removed the existing nozzle, prepared the cone section, and installed the new drain nozzle with precise alignment across a curved surface. Welding was completed in tight, confined conditions below the vessel, where access is limited and ex*****on has to be right. The final tie-in was clean, solid, and ready for service.๐Ÿ”ฅ ๐Ÿ”ฅ A huge THANKS to all our teammates and partners for making this repair project a huge success!

It was "Bo-Time" at Bob's Pavilion!โฐ๐Ÿฝ๏ธGood food and an even better commitment to safety...

Our Charlotte Team gathered for our Annual Safety Luncheon to connect over a meal to celebrate the commitment to safety that keeps our workplace strong. ๐Ÿ’ชThis is always a great time to recognize our employees who help make the commitment a reality.

We are so grateful to have a team that has the dedication, accountability, and drive to make safety more than a goal. It's part of who we are.

In the latest episode of Forged in Focus, I sat down with Mike Pischke of NBBI, whose career spans from pipe welding in nuclear power plants to shaping the standards and inspection systems that help keep the pressure equipment industry safe.

We dug into Mikeโ€™s early days in the field and how hands-on welding experience gave him a perspective no textbook could teach โ€” especially when it comes to understanding what happens between engineering drawings, shop-floor ex*****on and real-world fabrication.

Mike shares insight from decades in welding engineering, quality management, ASME code work, and National Board leadership. We talk about why strong quality systems are built around controlled processes, not just inspection, and how manufacturers, authorized inspectors, AIAs, ASME and the NBBI all play a role in keeping equipment safe long after it leaves the shop.

We also get into the importance of shop-floor involvement, workforce training, code committee participation, the ASME/National Board relationship, and why safety is often the thing this industry gets right โ€” even when no one talks about it because the system is working.

This conversation is packed with perspective on pressure equipment, welding, quality culture, inspection, leadership, and the future of our industry.

If you work in fabrication, engineering, inspection, quality, operations, or pressure equipment and have ever asked, โ€œHow do we build safer systems, stronger teams, and better industry standards?โ€ this episode is for you.

DOWNTHEROAD - Beauty is in the eye of the inspector๐Ÿ‘๏ธ...A fresh coat of charcoal gray paint may catch your eye but it's what passed the QC test that matters most. Headed out from our Houston facility and into Victoria, TX, this heat exchanger is going to take part in critical processes for the nylon industry. UPTHEHILL - From reactor to recovery system, another piece of the process comes full circle.โญ• These exchangers (coolers) are headed out the door and into the hands of the same project team behind a previous job of ours. What makes them unique? Their role in emission control. These units are designed to condense phthalate on the outside of the tubes, preventing it from venting to the atmosphere. Steam is then cycled through the tubes to melt the material, allowing it to safely drain back into the reactor we previously manufactured for this same facility. Engineering that keeps processes efficient and responsible.โœ”๏ธ๐ŸŒ A huge THANKS to all our teammates and partners for making this project a huge success!
