"When I started coaching and talking to very intelligent, smart, high-potential, talented people, I saw that a lot of their potential is going to waste, and they're doing everything right. The formula that most of us are given is to go to good schools, study hard, go to college, and hopefully maybe even have a graduate degree, and then go to a company, work hard and then (get promoted) and that's going to make your life better or happier. But what I saw talking to clients was not the case."
