Even corrosion-resistant steel can oxidize near salt water; material selection has to respond to the site, not just the desired appearance. Nelson Construction specified fabricated, powder-coated aluminum railings to preserve the black custom look while improving coastal durability. For exterior metal near salt water, ask what the base metal is - not only what coating will be applied.
