NABCEP is seeking experienced solar professionals to serve as volunteer Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for the upcoming PV Technical Sales (PVTS) credential update process.

Selected participants will help shape the future of the PVTS credential, influence industry standards, and ensure the certification continues reflecting real-world practices in the solar industry.

Most collaboration will occur virtually, with occasional in-person meetings (travel expenses qualify for reimbursement).

NABCEP wishes everybody a safe and joyous Memorial Day weekend! In observance of this important Holiday, NABCEP will be closing our offices starting at 1:00pm (Eastern U.S.) on Friday, May 22nd.

NABCEP will reopen our offices on Tuesday, May 26th, at 9:00am (Eastern U.S.). Remember to enjoy the barbecues, celebrate and honor those who served our country and be merry with family and loved ones!

This was our first CE Conference that was lead by NABCEP's own Jada Alcindor, who did a FANTASTIC job despite having every obstacle thrown in her way.

It's a double feature news day for our Associate Program! We are very excited to announce that our PV Associate (PVA) Credential program is going to have an updated exam.

A lot has changed since we last updated our PVA exam, both for us and world of Solar/PV. To adapt with these new times and challenges, we have incorporated new content domains with different knowledge concepts based in safety and core knowledge.

Our content domains for design, sales and economics, installation and O&M for residential, commercial and utility-scale PV installations were left in the updated version. All of these updates were developed with analysis from our PVA JTA survey results, completed by those who specialize in the industry and advocate for its growth and success.

We at NABCEP are very pleased with the great success PVA Credential has had over the many years since its inception. Thousands of our Associate Credential-holders are making a difference everyday with their knowledge and experience gained through earning their NABCEP PVA. This could be you!

The NABCEP Associate Program recognizes individuals who have demonstrated knowledge of the fundamental principles of the application, design, installation, and operation of Photovoltaic or Solar Heating energy systems.

NABCEP is excited to launch the new Associate Credential with a specialized focus on Operations & Maintenance for technicians. Say hello to the Operations & Maintenance Associate Technician Credential (OMAT)!

In order to qualify, you can either take a class from one of our Associate Registered Training Providers (ARTPs) or document that you've been working with a Solar/PV company for 6+ months. This new Associate Credential program is designed for O&M Tech 1 and Tech 2 field positions.

All of these updates were developed with input from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and reflect current industry best practices. We thank our SMEs for all their dedication and hard work!
