NABCEP wishes everyone a safe and happy Labor Day weekend! Our offices will close starting today at 1:00pm (EST) and will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 8th at 9:00am.

Also, stay tuned for a HUGE announcement later this month regarding opening registration for our 2027 CE Conference. Even though we're still more than a few months away, it never hurts to mark your calendars early!

NABCEP is proud to sponsor the 2026 Solar Roots Party! Tickets are now available, taking place Oct. 30 – Nov. 1, at the Ponderosa Hall-Nevada County Fairgrounds in Grass Valley, California, considered one of the birthplaces of the modern solar industry.

As part of the three-day gathering, the feature-length documentary film “Solar Roots – The Pioneers of Solar” will make its world premiere at the Del Oro Theater.

The film, more than a decade in the making, chronicles the untold true story of the hippies who brought solar power down from space and adapted it to power their remote homes in the forests of Northern California, ultimately transforming the technology into one of the world’s fastest growing sources of electricity today.

The filmmakers, Jeff Spies (Executive Producer) and Jason Vetterli (Director), conducted over 50 interviews with many of the movement's founders, innovators, and early adopters, preserving stories that might otherwise have been lost to history.

The Solar Roots Party brings together the original pioneers of residential solar, today's solar leaders, and the next generation of clean energy innovators to celebrate the industry's remarkable history while inspiring its future.

Beginning at 5:00pm (Eastern U.S.) today, all NABCEP offices will be closed in observance of the Juneteenth holiday, which is tomorrow, June 19. NABCEP offices will be open again on Monday, June 22 at 9:00am.

REMINDER: We are here at Midwest (Booth #313), but this is just a quick visit for us! NABCEP staff will be here at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL for just another 24 hours or so.

And that's a wrap for Day 1 of our trainings here at Midwest! Thanks again so much to Nick Matthes and Emmitt Muckles (NABCEP Board of Director's member) for proving they are some of the best this business has to offer!

Both men did an amazing job representing NABCEP and the high-standards that our certifications and credentials bring to the Solar/PV industry. We also got some great shots of Emmitt's class from earlier today!

NABCEP is seeking experienced solar professionals to serve as volunteer Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for the upcoming PV Technical Sales (PVTS) credential update process.

Selected participants will help shape the future of the PVTS credential, influence industry standards, and ensure the certification continues reflecting real-world practices in the solar industry.

Most collaboration will occur virtually, with occasional in-person meetings (travel expenses qualify for reimbursement).

Interested individuals should submit a resume and brief statement of interest to [email protected]
