SOMETIMES CONSTRUCTION TAKES GUTS. 🔨
Construction isn’t always about the pretty finished photos. Sometimes it means dropping what you’re doing, answering the call, and having a team of trades ready to take care of your clients when something goes wrong.
This week was a perfect example of why we document our Central Texas custom homes before insulation and drywall. We photograph the plumbing, electrical, HVAC and framing inside the walls so we have a record to reference long after those walls are covered.
A client in a recently completed home called with some bad news, they were losing water and could hear what sounded like a leak inside a wall, but could not see any evidence of exposed water.
Within an hour, our project management team and master plumber were onsite.
Using our construction photos and plumbing plans, we were able to help identify the affected area. The leak was determined to be below the foundation, the affected line was secured, and water service was restored to the lavatory in less than 24 hours of the call.
Unfortunately, accessing the plumbing required opening a few areas of drywall, but most importantly, no water damage was found and the home’s water service is back to normal.
Are we perfect? No builder is. We may never know exactly what caused this particular leak.
What we can control is how we respond.
Building a custom home doesn’t end at closing or move-in day. When you choose a home builder, you’re also choosing the team you’ll call when something unexpected happens weeks or years down the road.
Sometimes taking care of your clients means dropping everything, rearranging the schedule and getting to work.
