🌟 INTERN OF THE WEEK 🌟

This week, we’re excited to highlight Andres Cantu, a Civil Engineering student at Texas A&M University-Kingsville who is set to graduate this December!

During his internship, Andres has gained valuable hands-on experience with Civil3D applications, surveying manholes, and learning the details of pipe networking. Through these experiences, he has developed a deeper understanding of how engineering concepts are applied in real-world projects.

When asked what he has learned so far, Andres shared:

“In school, you solve problems on paper, but in the real world, those solutions impact the communities around you. This internship has shown me the difference between learning engineering and practicing it.”

His internship experience has provided insight into the important role engineers play in designing and improving infrastructure that serves the public every day.

We’re proud to be part of Andres’ journey as he prepares to begin his engineering career and wish him continued success in his final semester and beyond! 💙💛

ICE enjoyed attending the Public Utility Agencies Presentation and learning more about the collaborative efforts underway to strengthen infrastructure and utility services across South Texas.

Thank you to Senator Adam Hinojosa and Carlos Rubenstein for their leadership and for bringing together stakeholders to discuss innovative solutions for water, wastewater, stormwater, and infrastructure needs throughout our communities. Opportunities like these foster meaningful dialogue and partnerships that help build a stronger future for Texas.

We appreciate the opportunity to be part of the conversation and look forward to continuing to support projects that enhance the quality of life for the communities we serve.

Daniel’s journey with ICE began as an intern while he was completing his degree at Texas A&M- Kingsville. Throughout his internship, he demonstrated a strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and a passion for engineering that made him a valuable part of our team.

Now, after recently graduating, we are excited to welcome him in his new role as a full-time member of the ICE family. We look forward to seeing all that Daniel will accomplish as he begins this next chapter in his professional career.

This week, we’re excited to highlight Darius Martinez, a Civil Engineering student at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi!

Throughout his internship, Darius has gained hands-on experience with Civil3D, survey data, topography, plan set reviews, quantity sheets, field surveying, and even architectural design while assisting with our new office building project.

When asked what he has learned so far, Darius shared:

“I’ve learned how the concepts and ideas I’ve studied in class come together on real projects and what it truly means to be an engineer in a professional setting.”

His favorite part of the internship has been seeing how all the different pieces of a project come together and gaining a better understanding of the day-to-day responsibilities of engineers.

We’re proud to be part of Darius’ professional journey and look forward to seeing all he accomplishes in the future. Keep up the great work, Darius! 💙
