Have you ever been filling up at the gas station and wondered where your car's fuel comes from? To find out, you'll need to look underground!
A few months ago, we installed new storage tanks at a Speedway in Martin, KY. Each of these massive fiberglass tanks is over 30 feet long and holds 15,000 gallons of fuel. There are pumps that send the fuel up through a network of pipes to the dispensers, where it is mixed and discharged into your vehicle! Additionally, there are v***r recovery systems in place that suck the v***r that is displaced from your car's tank back into the underground storage tanks to be gathered by the refueling tank truck the next time the tanks are filled up. This process helps conserve fuel and prevent v***r from being released into the environment.
It may look simple on the surface, but this subterranean maze of pipes, wires, and tanks is responsible for keeping the country moving!
