Belize Water Services serves more than 65,000 customers across Belize—managing everything from aging infrastructure in the capital city to energy-intensive desalination systems on the coast.

That’s why BWS began exploring new approaches to metering and network insight.

After encountering Kamstrup at regional industry events and later through a procurement process, the utility launched a pilot project focused on ultrasonic metering and built-in Acoustic Leak Detection technology.

A few months into the deployment, the team is already seeing promising results:

• Improved billing data

• Increased consumption visibility

• Early indications of 10–15% higher recorded consumption

• New opportunities to better understand water loss across the network

But beyond the technology, one insight stood out most to the BWS team: learning how to engage with data in ways that can ultimately improve customer service and operational decision-making.

We’re grateful to Belize Water Services for sharing their experience and proud to support their work toward a more efficient and resilient water future.

80 years ago, Kamstrup started in a small workshop in Denmark with one idea: there is always a better solution.

What began as one person’s vision has grown into a global company helping utilities measure, manage, and understand water and energy in smarter ways.

Along the way, we’ve made bold choices and stayed committed to innovation that moves the industry forward.

But this milestone isn’t just about where we started or how far we’ve come.

It’s about the impact.

Every day, utilities rely on better data to make decisions, reduce loss, and serve their communities. Being part of that work is what makes 80 years meaningful.

Thank you to the utilities, partners, and teams who have been part of the journey.

Here’s to what’s next.
