š” Before you choose a home builder, ask these 3 questions.
Price matters, but the lowest number on a proposal does not tell you everything about the home you are actually getting or the experience you will have building it.
Before signing a contract, make sure you understand:
1ļøā£ What is actually included in the price?
Ask about cabinetry, flooring, lighting, plumbing fixtures, site work, basement finishes, outdoor living, and other major selections.
Two builders can quote what looks like the same home while including very different levels of finishes and features.
2ļøā£ Who will actually guide you through the build?
Know who you will work with during sales, design, construction, project management, and after closing.
You should know who owns each step and who to call when questions come up.
3ļøā£ What happens after you close?
Ask about the final walkthrough, warranty coverage, and how service requests are handled once you move in.
A builderās relationship with you should not disappear the day you get the keys.
š” One more thing we recommend: Ask to see a home currently under construction.
A job site can tell you a lot about a builderās organization, construction standards, materials, and attention to detail before the finishes cover everything up.
At Kelly Construction, we encourage buyers to learn about the process before making a decision.
