Expanding clean power is vital to ensuring reliable and affordable electricity is available when Americans need it most, like during extreme heat events.

Clean Power Association launched back-to-back reports highlighting how clean power delivers low-cost, reliable electricity during heatwaves. During July heatwaves, both last year and this year, markets with higher levels of clean energy experienced substantially lower wholesale electricity prices, while regions with relatively little clean generation experienced the highest prices, despite having tens of gigawatts of clean energy waiting to connect to the grid.

Oak Trail Solar is demonstrating how utility-scale solar supports biodiversity and responsible land stewardship. LRE’s 100 MW solar project in Currituck County, North Carolina have added forty-eight apiaries across nearly 700 acres of pollinator habitat, strengthening biodiversity and supporting long-term ecosystem health.

This effort is made possible through our collaboration with Wind & Sky Apiaries, a mission-driven organization dedicated to restoring honeybee populations, and Frontline Hives, a nonprofit that empowers veterans and first responders through the therapeutic practice of beekeeping.

It's one more way LRE is creating lasting value for communities, ecosystems, and the grid.

LRE celebrated major milestones across our 725 MW Oklahoma solar portfolio, representing approximately $1.5 billion in investment and one of the largest solar portfolios in the state.

These projects provide reliable, cost-effective, domestically produced energy that supports Google's operations in Oklahoma, strengthens grid reliability, and helps meet growing electricity demand. The energy provided supports businesses, communities, and the digital infrastructure driving America's economic growth.

As a long-term owner and operator, LRE remains committed to creating lasting value through community investment, responsible development, and workforce development. We are proud to be an inaugural adopting company of the American Clean Power Association's (ACP) Hands-On Competency Certification Program for solar technicians.

Thank you to our landowners, community partners, customers, utilities, suppliers, and project collaborators who helped make this milestone possible.

Safety is more than a priority. It is a shared commitment that guides everything we do.

LRE and MasTec hosted a lunch and raffle event for nearly 400 workers across the Mayes Solar, Salt Branch 1 & 2, and Huckleberry Solar sites in Oklahoma in celebration of safety week. At peak construction, these projects have supported more than 1,000 workers, making a strong safety culture essential to every task and every day. We are especially proud that the Mayes Solar project recently achieved 195 working days without a lost-time incident, a testament to the dedication and vigilance of everyone on site.

Thank you to every team member and partner who helps ensure that everyone goes home safely each day.

The University of Michigan (UM) Solar Car Team recently visited the Ridgely Solar project in Tennessee and LRE’s Dallas headquarters during the team’s nationwide Solar Trek tour. LRE supports the next generation of clean energy innovators and engineers through its Silver sponsorship of Millennium, the solar powered car designed and engineered by University of Michigan students.

The 2,800 mile Solar Trek takes the team from Michigan to Los Angeles, visiting sponsors, schools, and university solar car teams to promote renewable energy education and hands on engineering outreach across the country.

Team Wind Force hit the road May 2–3 for the 2026 Bike MS: Round Up Ride. LRE employees joined thousands of cyclists in Fort Worth for a weekend of purpose, perseverance and community. The annual event supports the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and its mission to cure multiple sclerosis while empowering people affected by MS to live their best lives.

Eleven years ago, LRE employees alongside renewables industry professionals formed Team Wind Force to support the fight against MS. Since then, the team has raised nearly $400,000 to advance research and expand access to critical resources.

This year, the team continued that momentum by raising more than $85,000, with additional donations still being counted. Riders trained, raised funds, and showed up with determination, reflecting LRE’s culture of collaboration and commitment. Each mile brought the team closer to a shared goal: a world free of MS.

Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and supported this year’s ride.

Clean power is creating meaningful impact in communities across the country. According to Clean Power Association, the industry generates over $6 billion annually in state and local taxes and landowner payments, supporting schools, infrastructure, and essential services nationwide.

At LRE, this is what we see every day. Energy infrastructure that strengthens local economies while delivering reliable, domestic power where it is needed most.

LRE employees came together to support the annual Sweetwater Rattlesnake Gravel Grind—a nationally recognized bike race held in Sweetwater, Texas, where LRE’s wind projects are located. 600 Riders, from the U.S., UK, and Belgium, braved the challenging West Texas landscape, cycling from 30 to 100 miles to raise funds for five volunteer fire departments in Nolan County.

Last year’s event generated over $60,000 for local fire departments thanks to community-driven efforts. Teams from Development, Operations, and Public Affairs at LRE coordinated sponsorships and operated an aid station 12 miles from the finish line, distributing water and bananas to those challenging the 100-degree heat. As Kristen Rosenberger from LRE said, “Supporting the communities where we work and live is a powerful reminder that meaningful impact comes from strong partnerships.”

Special thanks to Kenny Hope and Andy Limones, plant managers at Sweetwater Wind, for their ongoing dedication to the fire departments. LRE’s involvement energized the event, strengthened community ties, and showcased the values of partnership and service.
