🍎 As kids across Iowa head back to school, the Iowa Local Government Risk Pool (LGRP) is helping keep resources in the classroom.

Since FY 2020, the LGRP has freed up nearly $90 million in general fund dollars for participating Iowa school districts by protecting them from volatile natural gas markets — money that's gone toward teacher salaries, classroom resources, and student programs instead of unpredictable energy bills.

What started as a 27-district pilot has grown to 190 districts for FY 2026–27, built on budget certainty through winter storms and price spikes alike.
