Saline Area Schools’ new electric buses have passed their first tests. Now comes a Michigan winter.

The district’s three electric school buses have logged more than 5,800 miles since entering service this spring, including runs on longer rural routes. With an estimated range of about 100 miles in ideal conditions, transportation staff are now preparing to see how cold temperatures, cabin heating and snowy roads affect performance.

The buses cost about $1.24 million, with grants covering the purchase price.

A.R. Brouwer Company is proud to partner with ALDI USA once again as they expand their footprint in the Dearborn Community.

Dearborn is set to get its first Aldi grocery store, with plans for the discount supermarket to replace the former Big Lots location on Ford Road near Mercury Drive.

City officials confirmed the project will bring the popular low-cost grocery chain to the west side of Dearborn, marking the company’s first location within city limits. Aldi stores are known for their smaller footprint, lower prices, and private-label products.

The new store would take over the space previously occupied by Big Lots, which closed as part of broader retail changes impacting the national chain.
