Big news for counter-UAS (C-UAS) in our region: Point Defense Battle Lab has opened its permanent facility at Grand Forks Air Force Base. The mission supports the Air Force in maintaining air superiority by advancing tactics, techniques, and procedures to counter small UAS—and GrandSKY is proud to be a partner in this work.

The base held a ribbon-cutting event on Thursday, April 9.

North Dakota has added another “arrow” to its quiver as it ramps up its capabilities to address counter-drone and national security concerns. Senator John Hoeven recently announced the activation of the Vantis Federal Radar Data Enclave from the Federal Aviation Administration with the Vantis system at the Northern Plains UAS Test Site. This is the first non-federal entity in the nation to have access to the FAA’s unfiltered radar data feed. It solidifies our place as THE drone testing location in the country.

We will always be grateful for her steady leadership and commitment to public service.

We’re proud to support the Air Force’s commitment to strengthening base defense and advancing counter-drone capabilities, especially here in the Grand Forks region.

The newly established Point Defense Battle Lab at Grand Forks Air Force Base is playing a key role in the Air Combat Command’s Point Defense Task Force, bringing together Total Force partners to enhance tactics, techniques, and collaboration for defending against evolving small UAS threats.
