If heaters are failing prematurely, the issue is often not the heater itself but the operating conditions.

De-rated heaters are designed to operate at a lower watt density, reducing the heater surface temperature and minimizing thermal stress on both the heating element and the surrounding medium.

De-rated heaters should be considered when:
• fluids are temperature-sensitive or prone to degradation
• scaling or fouling is likely to occur on the heater surface
• flow conditions are limited or inconsistent
• extended heater lifetime is critical for uptime
