Our drivers took on 8 challenges in this year’s obstacle course, including picking the correct truck height, backing into an alley dock, navigating the balloon chute maze, and more, all designed to push their driving and operating skills to the limit.

Yesterday, our mixer drivers put their skills to the test at our annual Silvi Mixer Driver Rodeo!🏆 We’re excited to announce this year’s top three finishers:

🥇 1st Place: Rogelio Morales-Palillero
🥈 2nd Place: Norman Saunders
🥉 3rd Place: Jose Calixto-Mendoza

All three drivers will head to Nashville this October to represent Silvi at the 2026 NRMCA National Mixer Driver Championship!

Congratulations to our winners, and a big thank you to all of the drivers who competed and volunteers who helped make this year’s rodeo a success! 👏

More than 20 years of partnership between Silvi Materials and NJIT were celebrated this summer with the dedication of The Silvi Materials Concrete Lab in Colton Hall.
 
Hear from Dr. Moshe Kam, Dr. Teik Lim, Nicole Maher, and Co-President Larry Silvi II as they reflect on a partnership built around hands-on education, workforce development, and preparing the next generation of concrete industry professionals.
 
As students and faculty continue to learn, test, research, and innovate within the lab, we’re proud to continue investing in the people who will build the future of our industry.

A summer at Silvi, straight from our interns’ camera rolls! 👷‍♀️📸

This year, we welcomed 15 interns representing eight colleges and universities into nine departments across Silvi Materials. From operations and quality control to safety, logistics, IT, accounting, sales, mining, and marketing, these students have gained valuable hands-on experience while contributing to teams across the company.

We’re especially excited to have welcomed back six returning interns, along with seven students from NJIT’s Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program.

Thank you to all our interns for your hard work this summer, and to the many employees who invested their time in mentoring the next generation of industry professionals.

A new playground is now open for families staying at Ronald McDonald House Philadelphia’s Chestnut Street House in West Philadelphia!
 
Silvi Materials supplied 110 cubic yards of concrete to Pullman for the playground’s new slab. The completed space features a poured rubber surface, new play equipment, and a small basketball court.
 
RMHC Philadelphia provides a home away from home and essential support for families whose children are receiving medical care. This expanded outdoor space gives guest families more room to play, relax, and spend time together during their stay.
