This custom version of our Cedar Creek model is being built with our 6x8 Hemlock logs, and we’re excited to see the home begin to take shape.

Work is moving right along on Joe’s Place, and what a beautiful setting for a log home!

The foundation is complete and the floor system is going in. It’s exciting to see the layout of this custom home come together before the first logs are stacked!

And can we talk about those views? 🍂 The fall colors surrounding this property are absolutely beautiful. Just imagine enjoying those mountains from the porch with a cup of coffee!

Joe’s Place is a customized version of our Cedar Creek model, and we’re looking forward to sharing more as construction continues.

🪵 Not All Logs Are Created Equal!

When you’re investing in a log home, the type and quality of wood used matters. That’s why, at Mountain State Log Homes, we prefer Hemlock!

While white pine is widely used throughout the log home industry, we’ve found that Hemlock offers some important advantages, including strength, durability, natural resistance to insects and weather, and less checking.

But choosing quality wood doesn’t stop with selecting the right species. We’re particular about the timber we purchase, too. In fact, we’re willing to source our Hemlock from outside West Virginia when necessary to get the quality we expect for our customers.

And when you combine quality Hemlock with our precision milling and unique Dovetail Interlocking Corner System, you’ve got the foundation for a log home built with generations in mind.

We don’t choose what’s easiest or most convenient. We choose the materials we’re proud to put our name on.
