More details about how I set up leaf springs and why. This all roots from axle clearance. If you do not allow the springs enough travel you will bottom out the axle on the frame way before the spring reaches its max potential. If you do overload the trailer that has proper axle clearance you will (99.9% of the time) brake a leaf spring before bending an axle. AXLES ARE HITTING FRAMES WITHOUT BREAKING SPRINGS BECAUSE THEY DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH CLEARANCE NOT BECAUSE THEY ARE BEING OVERLOADED.
