The best way to figure out if a company is the right fit is to talk to the people who actually work there.

That's why NNI will be at the HireOhio Multi-University Alumni Career Fair on June 4.

We want to have real conversations with people about what it's like to build a career at a growing national GC. Answering questions like: What does career growth look like? How does the work change as you move up? What does a typical project look like from start to finish?

So bring all your questions. Because we want you to walk away knowing what it would be like to build a career at NNI. And if you're an alum of The Ohio State or a grad from any of the participating universities, come find us at the Ohio Union between 11am and 2pm.

NNI is growing, and we're looking for people who want to grow with it.

We have our first intern.

Hayden Nahra joined our Finance Team to help us launch our new internship program. Hayden is a Finance major at Marian University and a Business 109 finalist, where he had to develop a business plan, pitch it to executives, and compete for funding to launch an actual campus business.

That experience gives him a foundation in how businesses operate. Now he'll see how it works in construction, where finance funds the work, tracks the costs, and closes the books on every project we run. He'll see firsthand how funding decisions move alongside project timelines on active jobs, not just in theory.

We're glad to have you on the team, Hayden!

NNI was out at the Kent State Construction Management Golf Outing.

Brian and Alex represented the company on the course, and NNI sponsored a hole. Why?

The construction industry has a real talent pipeline problem. The contractors that will be leading the charge in the next five years are the ones building relationships with students today, not when those students are already fielding offers from three other firms.

Kent State's Construction Management program produces people who know what they're getting into. They chose this industry on purpose, and that's not something you can teach once someone's already on the payroll.

It was a great event, and we can’t wait to see what these incredible students do next.

Three of our people spent two days at the Planet Fitness Independent Franchisee Council Convention last week.

Amie, Brian, and Danielle represented NNI in a room full of leaders who are shaping the fitness industry.

Being present at the convention was about building the trust necessary for long-term success in this space. We know that successful projects start with strong relationships, and this gave us the chance to connect with franchisees on a personal level. Hearing their goals firsthand helps our team better understand how to deliver the results that will meet their standards.

We’re committed to our continued partnership with Planet Fitness, and this week was a move toward even more growth. We look forward to building what comes next!

The 7th annual Hockey Players in Business Charity Tournament wrapped up in a big way.

Brian Miller, NNI's CEO, hit the ice alongside 127 other hockey players for a day that had nothing to do with construction and everything to do with community. This year's event raised just over $180,000 for charity. That's $60,000 more than last year.

That kind of growth happens because the same people keep showing up, keep recruiting others, and keep treating the event like it matters.

Congratulations to everyone who played, donated, and helped make the 2026 tournament the best one yet.

Safety is the silent contract between every person on a jobsite.

As a national GC operating across multiple states, we're responsible for creating safe job sites. Our teams, our clients, and our trade partners work side-by-side in the same space. So we build the systems that make sure everyone goes home at the end of the day.

Managing thousands of moving parts means we can't leave safety to chance. We train the teams, we set the standards, and we make sure they're followed on every site. Because when someone steps onto one of our sites, their family is counting on them to come back home.

That’s why every site we run has one goal: to make it home safely.

Because at the end of each day, people remain the most important part of any project we build.

Careers in construction are usually measured project to project.

But we don’t think about it that way. We think in years.

And that requires honest conversations about what someone wants from their career and where they see themselves going. Then we put the work into helping them get there. Some people want to transition from fieldwork into project management. Others want to develop leadership skills to move up to the next role. But the common thread is making sure no one feels stuck.

We're building a company where careers grow alongside the projects. And that means investing in training that propels someone to the next level and creating opportunities that didn't exist until someone was ready for them. Because when people can see a real path forward, they stay for what’s ahead of them, and not just for the next job.

So our goal is simple: If you want to grow, we'll make sure there's room for you to do it.

Every new team member is equipped and valued from the moment they join NNI.

That’s why each new hire, regardless of their role, spends a full week in 1-on-1 training with our COO, Geoff Protz. This time is used to walk through our Culture Index and our operational methods so that no one is ever left to fend for themselves.

We follow this up with dedicated time with a hiring coach so that our people are fully integrated into the team and ready to succeed before they ever step onto a project.

When we invest this level of individual attention, our team is better prepared to provide the results our clients expect. This is how we set up our people for success at NNI.

We believe the best roles are built around the people who are ready for them.

That's what happened with Michelle O'Connor and Makenna Vitello. Both have been promoted to Estimating Assistant II, a position we created because of the work they did in what started as a short-term assignment.

This move came from recognizing performance that proved itself over time. And when people demonstrate they can handle more responsibility, we don't wait for the perfect role to open up. We build it. Michelle and Makenna turned a temporary opportunity into something permanent because they did the work, and they did it well.

We create opportunity from within when people show they're ready for it. It's how we're growing this company and create a culture of opportunity.

Congratulations to both of you. We're excited to see where you take it from here.
