Electrification is essential for climate progress — but without the right support, it risks leaving the households that need help most further behind. A new piece from CMC's Shaun Loyer makes a compelling case: energy efficiency isn't just a complement to electrification - it's the key to making it equitable.

When homes are properly insulated and sealed before heat pumps go in, systems can be smaller, electrical upgrades may not be needed, and energy bills stay manageable - particularly important for resource-constrained households already spending more than 8% of their income on energy.

This month, we’re proud to highlight Steven Pecci, Quality Assurance Inspector II based in Massachusetts.

With a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and multiple BPI certifications (BA-T, BA-P), Steven plays a key role in ensuring energy-efficiency and direct-install upgrades are done right—verifying quality, documenting findings, and always looking for ways to add value for our customers.

Beyond the field, Steven brings the same dedication to his passion for sea kayaking—having circumnavigated Manhattan, paddled to the Isles of Shoals, and crossed Vineyard Sound.

As our teams continue to deliver energy efficiency programs across homes and businesses, we remain committed to ensuring every project is completed with the highest level of care and responsibility.

That’s why we’re proud to welcome Charles Stokley as our new Field Safety Manager.

Charles brings over two decades of experience leading safety programs across diverse environments including military, healthcare, and the private sector. His perspective and leadership will help strengthen the systems, training, and support our field teams rely on every day.

Most importantly, he shares our belief that safety is about people - making sure every team member returns home safely to their families.
