What makes someone a Master Builder? Palladio understood that great architecture is about more than buildings. It’s about proportion, balance, and timeless principles.

A client came to me with a farmhouse that burned down, I wanted to rethink the design while keeping its traditional character. I moved toward an Arts and Crafts influence, using traditional proportions and details to create something that feels timeless and connected to its roots.

This home had lost much of its Prairie School character after decades of alteration and neglect. The Hull Companies carefully restored the home’s original architectural vision, with particular attention to its historic windows and exterior details.
Projects like this are about more than restoring a building. They’re about understanding what made the original architecture meaningful and bringing those details back to life. Click the link in bio to see how we can help bring your home's story to life.

This community was built almost entirely from concrete, with no traditional insulation. It’s a fascinating example of how material, design, and building methods can work together to create a comfortable home.

There’s always something to learn when you take the time to look closely at how a building was designed and built. Explore my YouTube channel for more in-depth home tours. Link in bio.

Charles Dilbeck understood that great architecture wasn’t just about what you saw, but what you felt. He paid attention to the details that created a sense of comfort, character, and place. That’s what made his homes so special. What stands out to you?

Working on Block Island, Rhode Island, with a couple looking to rebuild a garage on a historic property. The garage would serve as storage, as well as an office and bunk room for the house.

Hull Millwork provided the 100-year windows and doors for this outbuilding. The 100-year casement windows were properly scaled and built to withstand the harsh saltwater environment of the Rhode Island coast.

Hull Millwork also provided the outswing garage doors, designed with our sloped bottom rail to shed water. Learn more by clicking the link in bio.

This lake house has been a fun challenge, with some unique elements that needed to be reworked. I love finding ways to make a home work better while preserving its character. Built in 1881, this wonderful Italianate home is a well-preserved example of early Texas architecture, built about 10 years before the arrival of the railroad. This simple home was well-built, with many hand-crafted elements, like the mantels still present in many rooms.

Hull Homes and Hull Millwork restored and enlivened the historic parts and pieces of the home, including a complete window restoration, wood trim, and wood ornamentation matched with custom knives after careful research.

The home had an unfortunate amount of rot, as well as 140 years of existence that needed new life. Hull Homes provided all-new mechanicals, as well as updated bathrooms and a new kitchen.
