Stryhn, LLC is excited to announce the recent acquisition of 1224 N. Nokomis Street NE in Alexandria, which will soon serve as our new Alexandria-area headquarters!

This is an exciting next step in the continued growth of Stryhn. Over the past several years, our team has grown to the point that we have simply outgrown our existing Glenwood office. To accommodate that growth, we’ve had to lease additional office space across the street, which has worked well for a time but with our growth in the Alexandria market this second location just made sense.

With the addition of our new Alexandria location, our project management and operations team will be moving to Alexandria, while our accounting team will remain based in Glenwood. Our sales and design teams will operate out of both locations, giving us more flexibility and allowing us to better serve clients throughout Glenwood, Alexandria, and the surrounding areas.

And to be clear, we are not leaving Glenwood. Glenwood is home, and our Glenwood office will remain an important part of Stryhn’s operations moving forward. This new Alexandria office is an extension of what we have already built and gives us the space and presence we need to continue growing in a thoughtful way.

We’re currently working through the process of getting the new office ready and gradually moving our team in. We’ll share more updates as things come together, and once we’re fully settled, we plan to host an open house and invite the community to stop in, meet our team, and see the new space.

We’re incredibly excited about this next chapter for Stryhn and grateful to our clients, employees, subcontractors, vendors, and communities who have helped us continue to grow.

More to come from 1224 N. Nokomis NE!

The world lost an amazing person yesterday, and the Stryhn family lost one of our most valued and beloved team members.

Michelle Reents worked at our front desk, where she greeted every client, visitor, and employee with a big smile. Always. She had an incredible way of bringing light and happiness into every situation and making people feel welcome the moment they walked through the door.

Michelle was thoughtful in all the little ways that mattered. She always kept the candy jar full because she knew how much everyone enjoyed stopping by her desk for a treat, a conversation, and, most importantly, a visit with her.

Our hearts go out to Michelle’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. Please know how deeply she was cared for by her work family here at Stryhn.

Michelle, you will be greatly missed. Your kindness, your warmth, and that unforgettable smile will always be a part of Stryhn.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Stryhn, LLC Named to Qualified Remodeler’s 2026 Top 500

Glenwood design-build firm ranks No. 441 nationally and No. 15 among Minnesota companies

GLENWOOD, Minn. — August 10, 2026 — Stryhn, LLC, a design-build and construction firm based in Glenwood, Minnesota, has been named to Qualified Remodeler magazine’s 2026 Top 500, ranking No. 441 nationally among the largest remodeling and home improvement companies in the United States.

Stryhn also ranks No. 15 among Minnesota companies appearing on the 2026 Top 500 list.

The recognition places the Glenwood-based company among a small group of remodeling firms nationwide. Industry data indicates there are more than 128,000 remodeling firms operating in the United States, while Minnesota has roughly 1,600 residential remodeling establishments. Against that broader industry backdrop, earning a position among the Top 500 nationally and ranking No. 15 among Minnesota firms on the list represents a significant milestone for Stryhn.

Established in 1978, Qualified Remodeler’s Top 500 is the remodeling industry’s longest-running recognition program of its kind. The annual list ranks the nation’s largest remodeling and home improvement companies based primarily on annual remodeling revenue.

For Stryhn, the recognition carries additional significance because the company has built and grown its business from Glenwood, a small community in west-central Minnesota, while competing for national recognition alongside companies headquartered in some of the largest metropolitan markets in the country.

“Being named to the Top 500 is something we are extremely proud of, but what makes it particularly meaningful to us is where we have done it,” said Brendon Stryhn of Stryhn, LLC. “We are building this company from Glenwood, Minnesota. We don’t have the population base or market size of Minneapolis, Chicago, Dallas or many of the other major markets represented on this list. To earn a place alongside companies operating at that level is something our entire team should be proud of.”

The Top 500 represents a broad cross-section of the remodeling industry, including design-build remodelers, full-service remodelers, kitchen-and-bath specialists, replacement contractors and other residential improvement companies.

While annual remodeling revenue drives the numerical ranking, the Top 500 application and recognition process examines more than revenue alone. Applicants provide information related to areas such as industry association involvement, industry awards, years in business, professional certifications and accreditations, and community service, in addition to installed remodeling volume.

For Brendon Stryhn, however, the people who deserve the greatest recognition for the accomplishment are Stryhn’s employees.

“Our employees deserve the credit for this accomplishment first and foremost. They are the ones who show up every day, solve problems, take care of our clients, work through challenging projects and continue pushing us to become a better company. You can have a vision for where you want a company to go, but without great people committed to making it happen, that vision doesn’t mean much. This recognition belongs to them.”

Stryhn also credits the clients who have trusted the company with their homes, businesses and projects throughout the years.

“We are incredibly thankful for our clients. Every project starts with someone trusting us with a significant investment in their home, business or property, and that trust is something we never take lightly. Our clients have given a small-town company the opportunity to take on great projects, grow our capabilities and continually raise the bar for what we can accomplish.”

The company also recognized its subcontractors, suppliers and trade partners, whose relationships and craftsmanship have played an important role in Stryhn’s growth.

“Construction is very much a team effort, and our subcontracting and trade partners are an extension of our team. We are fortunate to work with a lot of talented people and companies who care about the quality of their work and the finished product. Many of those relationships have been built over years, and they have absolutely contributed to Stryhn reaching this milestone.”

According to the 2026 Top 500 rankings, Stryhn is classified in the Design-Build Remodeling segment.

For Stryhn, earning national recognition while remaining headquartered in Glenwood is also evidence that the size of a company’s hometown does not necessarily determine the level at which it can compete.

“I think there is sometimes an assumption that you need to be located in a large metropolitan area to build a company that can compete nationally,” Stryhn said. “This shows that isn’t necessarily true. You can build something significant in a small community if you have good people, strong relationships, great clients and a willingness to keep improving.”

Stryhn sees the company’s first appearance on the Top 500 as both an accomplishment and a new benchmark for the future.

“We are very proud of being No. 441 nationally and No. 15 in Minnesota, but we also look at it as motivation,” Stryhn said. “Our goal is to continue investing in our employees, improving the experience we provide our clients, strengthening our partnerships and seeing how far we can take this company while continuing to call Glenwood home.”

The time has finally come...... we’re building the driveway at this Lake Minnewaska custom home!

After months of coordination with the State of Minnesota and Pope County we finally received the approvals needed to move forward. And as soon as we got the green light, the Stryhn crew wasted no time getting started.

This project is another great example of what our team loves to do: take on a challenging property that many people thought was unbuildable and figure out how to make it work.

The result is a beautiful custom home with lake access and an incredible view of Lake Minnewaska.

One of the biggest challenges has been the property’s close proximity to wetlands. Before the final driveway design could be approved, a wetland delineation had to be completed to establish the exact wetland boundaries. Because construction started during the winter, that delineation couldn’t be performed until spring conditions allowed. Add in the multiple reviews and approvals required from different agencies, and the driveway became one of the final pieces of the puzzle.

But now it’s happening.

The final design includes a massive engineered block retaining wall that will support the driveway while permanently protecting the adjacent wetlands. It’s a substantial piece of construction and one that will completely transform access to the property.

We also have to admit the rumors around town about “the house with no driveway” were pretty entertaining to follow. 😂 We managed to get the house built quickly enough that the driveway permitting couldn’t keep up!

Soon, that nickname will officially be retired.
Another challenging site. Another creative solution. And another project we’re proud to put the Stryhn name on.

Stay tuned as this driveway is going to be impressive when it’s finished. 💪🏗️🏡

🔨 Passing Down the Tricks of the Trade!

Yesterday, company owner Brendon Stryhn spent time at one of our basement remodels teaching cabinet installation techniques to two of our younger carpenters, Samantha and Tristan.

At Stryhn, we believe great construction starts with great training. Hands-on education helps ensure our projects are built right the first time while giving our team members the skills and experience they need to build rewarding careers in the trades.

Quality craftsmanship today. Skilled craftspeople for tomorrow. 💪

The bus is officially STUFFED!

Wow...what an incredible community we have!

Thanks to the generosity of so many individuals, businesses, and organizations, Stryhn was able to collect just shy of 50 backpacks, along with a tremendous amount of school supplies, for the United Way of West Central Minnesota's Stuff the Bus campaign.

Because of your support—and with Stryhn matching every backpack donated—even more local students will head back to school with the supplies they need to start the year with confidence.

Thank you to everyone who donated backpacks, school supplies, shared our posts, or simply helped spread the word. Every contribution made a difference.

This is what makes our community so special. Neighbors helping neighbors and making sure our local kids have the best possible start to the school year.

Thank you, Glenwood and the surrounding communities, for helping us Stuff the Bus! We are honored to be a part of such a generous community.

This past week, the project team reached a major milestone at our Brownies Tire project in Glenwood, MN.

After demolition of the original building was completed, extensive soil corrections were needed to create a solid base for the new foundation. As many people in the area know, the soils in this part of Glenwood can be challenging. The ground was swampy and contained a significant amount of peat, which is not suitable for supporting a new building.

The team at Joe Riley Construction excavated nearly seven feet below the entire building area and replaced the unsuitable soils with structural sand. Once that work was complete, the site entered a testing phase. A large pile of fill was placed over the corrected area to simulate the weight of the future building.

Over the next two months, the soils were carefully monitored and tested for settlement and stability. With that process now complete, we are officially back to building.

This past week, our trade partners at J Brothers Mechanical Plus and Double J Concrete and Masonry worked hard to install the underground plumbing and place the massive concrete footings and floor slab.

After the concrete has had time to properly cure, framing can begin.

Stay tuned as we continue making progress and bringing this project to life.
