Another step closer! 🚒

Gold Hill Fire Department would like to give a huge thank you to Vulcan Materials Company for their generous donation of rock to help us continue building our new training facility. We truly appreciate your support of our department and our members!

This project is being built in partnership with our neighboring department, Rockwell Rural, giving both departments a dedicated place to train, sharpen our skills, and stay ready for whatever call comes our way.

A special thank you to Chief Brock, Chief Trexler, Captain Morgan, and Chris Shugart for helping coordinate the delivery and putting in the work to get the rock spread.

It’s exciting to see this project continue to come together. We’re looking forward to having a place where our members can train, learn, and prepare so we can continue providing the best service possible to our communities. 🚒🖤

Earlier today, B Shift provided station coverage for our neighbors at Healing Springs Fire Dept. while they were committed to a large incident.

Working together to support one another is what the fire service is all about. Whether it’s responding to emergencies or covering a neighboring district, we’re always ready to help ensure our communities continue to receive the highest level of service.

💦 What a fun way to spend the day! ☀️

Today, B Shift had the opportunity to visit the kids at First Baptist Church of Gold Hill for some summertime fun! We helped everyone cool off with a little water, shared lots of laughs, and made plenty of smiles along the way. And of course, we had to have a little fun ourselves to cool off too! 😄💦

We always enjoy spending time with our community, especially the kids. Thank you to First Baptist Church of Gold Hill for inviting us out—we had an amazing time and hope everyone did too!

⚠️ SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING – ROWAN COUNTY ⚠️

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for all of Rowan County until 5:00 PM (1700 hrs).

⛈️ Hazards include:
🧊 Ping Pong Ball Size Hail
💨 Winds Up to 60 MPH

Residents are encouraged to seek shelter indoors, secure loose outdoor items, and avoid unnecessary travel during the storm. Stay weather aware and monitor local forecasts for updates.

📱 Have multiple ways to receive weather alerts and be prepared to move to a safe location if conditions worsen.

☀️ Summer is here, and we want to remind everyone to stay safe while enjoying all your favorite outdoor activities!

💧 Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated, especially when spending time outdoors.
🌡️ Take breaks in the shade or air conditioning and know the signs of heat-related illness.
🚤 When enjoying time on the water, wear a life jacket, keep a close eye on children, and be aware of changing weather conditions.
👶 Never leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle.
👵 Check on elderly family members, neighbors, and others who may be more sensitive to the heat.

A little preparation can go a long way toward preventing emergencies. Stay safe, stay cool, and have a great summer!

Crews are currently operating in the 3000-blk of Earnhardt Rd in Rockwell assisting Bostian Heights Fire Department with a structure fire.

Please avoid the area if possible and expect emergency vehicles and personnel on scene. If you must travel through the area, slow down and use extra caution.
