Had an amazing opportunity to help rebuild a hard working bail picker for a fine ranch family out near Fort Benton. The multi phase rebuild included chasing some cracking near the center upright support underneath both main beam sections of the picker. Where room allowed, i added multiple heavy gusset plates and fishplates on each side to add some backup rigidity to the compromised structure.
In addition, a heavy wall square tube run was added between both cross members at each end of the equipment to help keep the long frame sections locked in together.
Next i attacked the hydraulic picker arm itself, in which had been bent outwards from its stationary position. Removing the compromised section of the arm and adding interior support before rebuilding the box section in parallel with the adjacent picker arm.
The next phase included removing and rebuilding sections of the channel track system within the interior of the equipment. This track system was beat up pretty good by the long roller skid that holds the push rack on top of the platform. The field goal shaped push rack was almost completely rebuilt after it was damaged and temporarily repaired by the owner.
The following phase of the project included rebuilding the long roller skid that holds the push rack after the working end had been severely bent and twisted within the track system.
Each phase had its challenges and difficulties, but emphasis on rebuilding the equipment as close to manufactured specifications as possible was the objective focus, followed by the goal of leaving solid work behind in order to allow these repairs to last for the customer.
I plan to be on site if needed during reassembly and test operations in case anything needs attention or modifications!

Another first time build brought the opportunity to design and fabricate this adjustable height barrel roping stand. This stand sits at 58” and can be easily raised to 68” with 2” increments. A wide base with round feet gives it a stable foundation for the user.
I included an open square tube insert at the front end for any additional accessories such as a steel head mount for practice purposes.

I tell people all the time that the most rewarding part of operating a mobile welding service is the fact that for the majority of the time, I’m coming up on all new work scopes, projects and manifestations, problems that I’ve never tackled before. A lot of first time builds in the field of mobile welding to say the least.
I’ve always believed if it can be thought up, if a good game plan can be set in place, and if the vision communicated is clear, it can be done.
Many mistakes have been made, a lot of time spent that didn’t always guarantee payout, and a lot of lessons learned no doubt. At the same time, SO much knowledge and understanding.
Fisher Enterprise Welding is coming up on 5 years in operation. Im PROUD of the very broad scope of work that service welding has put in front of me, ALL of it is nothing short of a blessing. Easy to say it has made me a better, more humble and confident welder. All and all I do feel like I’m right where I need to be, helping Montana people with their every day trailer and equipment repair, manifestation projects, homestead fence builds, mechanical system builds, dam projects, farming equipment repairs, and much much more.
From the bottom of my heart, to the top of the world, I’m forever GRATEFUL for the people and partnerships, the knowledge and support, and the possibilities that come with the journey.

Huge shouts out to my friend and partner Jason at JD/Farms and Trucking for inviting me back to build these custom skids out of recycled I-beam on each side of his trailer, in order to efficiently load and unload his storage container inventory.
We also added a dozen D rings and some tool boxes on the underside as well, NO problem💯

Thanks to Ti-zack Concrete out of Minnesota for the opportunity to team up for the much needed rebuild of 6th St SW!
This included ripping out the old steel expansion joints between the road and bridge on each side of the bridge!
We managed to reuse most of the steel expansion joints with some persuasion and straightening‼️
