A frozen river starts to melt ❄️

On April 21, 2026, Landsat 9 captured an image of the Kuskokwim River near the town of Aniak, Alaska. The river was frozen over from a remarkably cold winter. By May 7, the river had begun to thaw, causing water to back up and ice to pile on riverbanks.

Spiral galaxy Messier 88, seen by NASA's Hubble Space Telescope, is located about 63 million light-years away in the constellation Coma Berenices.
