When mowing around your AC or heat pump, blow the grass AWAY from the unit!

Grass clippings can quickly clog the outdoor coil and restrict airflow, making your system work harder and causing problems.

These pictures are a perfect example. A little prevention goes a long way!

Sometimes when you’re working, you just have to stop for a few minutes and take in the view.

We’re very fortunate to have so many customers at Smith Mountain Lake who trust Clay’s Heating & Cooling in their homes, whether it’s for routine maintenance, repairs, or a complete system replacement.

This area has been very good to our family-owned and operated company, and we truly appreciate the trust our customers continue to place in us. They know they can rely on our company for honest service without worrying about being price gouged or upsold products and repairs they don’t need.

Today we’re wishing Larry Clay a very happy 75th birthday!

Want to guess where he’ll be spending his birthday? In an attic at Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, VA, running ductwork. That’s just who Larry is.

Larry is one of the original founders of Clay’s Heating & Cooling, alongside his brother Ralph and their father, Silas Clay. More than 50 years later, the company is still family-owned and operated by Larry, his brother Donald, and his son Mike.

Happy 75th Birthday, Larry! Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and for helping build a company our community has trusted for generations. We hope you have a great day—even if it is spent in an attic!
