Last Wednesday night we teamed up with one of ur great partners for the placement of the last 7 girders spanning I-95 over Broadway in Bangor. Our Terex AC200-1 was tasked for the job with Dylan in the seat.

The beams were trucked to Bangor from South Portland and staged in a closure on the northbound passing lane. At 8pm Broadway was shut down and crew took the street. The beams weighing in at a modest 24,000lbs were placed along with diaphragms and cross bracing.

The last diaphragm was set in place and equipment cleared from Broadway long before it had to be opened back up to traffic.

While we're onto the next job, this one was bittersweet. It was the last one for our AC200-1. It's going to a great family owned company from Rhode Island to help build their company. For us, we're making room for something bigger to adapt to our growing needs.

The AC200-1 has been a workhorse in our fleet for years and has done many jobs big and small. Shout out to Dylan for giving her a proper send off on her last job.

Yesterday we hosted CCO practicals with Associated General Contractors of Maine. Before we took it all down, the guys had a friendly competition. At the end, Chief hopped in and gave it a whirl. Needless to say he’s still got it.

As the snow was starting to fall in Bangor last Sunday, January 25th tragedy struck when a plane was departing Bangor International Airport and crashed into the infield on departure.

The next day we got a call from our partners at the airport asking if we’d be willing to assist in the recovery effort. Absolutely.

Later on the company in charge of the recovery reached out to set things into motion. Since then Nick, Dylan, Travis, Josh, Ben and Tony have assisted in the recovery process.

We were priviliged to work beside some amazing teams in this process and they need to be recognized for their professionalism and heroism from the minute the crash happened until the recovery was complete. The men and women at Bangor Maine Fire Department, Maine ANG Fire Department, Bangor Maine Police Department, the team at Bangor International Airport, local fire departments that reasoned the night of the crash, the Office of the Medical Examiner, the NTSB, the FAA, the 101st Air Refueling Wing and the Maine National Guard.

Despite the tragedy, it was a privilege to work with you all.

NCM's Brianna Bush gives us an update on the deadly crash on Wednesday at 5 p.m. in Bangor.
