Friday’s call turned into a little more than expected.💧🔥

What started as a service call ended with one of the indoor heat pump units needing to be replaced. Thankfully, I was able to track one down and get it installed — saving the customer the expense of replacing the entire system.

My Friday night plans changed pretty quick. I didn’t pull into my own driveway until around 9:00 last night.

But that’s part of it.

I’m running a business, but at the end of the day, I live here too. These are our neighbors, our friends, and the people in our community. When somebody needs help and I can get the job done, I’m not watching the clock.

The appreciation from that customer made the late night worth it.

Neighbors helping neighbors. That’s how I was raised, and that’s how I run Dows Plumbing & Heating. 💧🔥

Hard to think about heating season when it’s still summer, but December 13th is only 122 days away — and last December 13th, Bangor was sitting at 27°. 🥶

Well... that's kind of like saying, "It's just one spark plug."

That little oil burner nozzle may be tiny, but it's one of the hardest-working parts of your heating system. It controls how the fuel is sprayed, and if it's worn out or dirty, your boiler can waste fuel, run poorly, or decide to quit on the coldest morning of the year... because heating systems seem to have a twisted sense of humor. 🥶

A nozzle might only cost a few bucks, but replacing it during annual maintenance can save you from much bigger headaches down the road.

Small part. Big job. Don't overlook it.

Most people look at this and see a bunch of orange tubing.

I see 15,000 feet of comfort.

This wasn't a one-man job. It took a great crew working together to lay nearly 3 miles of radiant tubing before a single yard of concrete gets poured.💪

A lot of work goes into the parts of a building that no one will ever see, but it's those hidden details that make all the difference for years to come.

Proud to have been part of this one. Looking forward to seeing it come together.

Well...my office isn't climate controlled, my meetings involve pipes instead of powerpoints, eight legged co-workers that never pull their weight and my dress shoes have steel toes.

It ain't glamorous...but it's honest work. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

I realized I haven't posted anything for a few days. 💧🔥

That's not because I've slowed down... it's actually the opposite. I've been running from one job to the next, and at the end of the day, I'm working on estimates.

I appreciate every single one of you who's called, referred me, or simply followed along since we started. Small businesses survive because of community and the good people in it.
