Build Freedom Summit - Manufacturing & Workforce

The Build Freedom Summit is a national manufacturing and workforce summit, not conference, with a focus on Texas taking place October 20–22, 2026, in Galveston, Texas at the Galveston Island Convention Center. It is bringing together leaders from manufacturing, defense, education, government, and workforce development to address America’s skilled workforce and industrial-base challenges.

The Summit focuses on strengthening America’s manufacturing workforce, expanding skilled-trades career pathways, advancing manufacturing capabilities, and improving defense industrial base readiness. Topics include workforce strategies and programs, apprenticeships, K–12 and postsecondary alignment, and career pathways. We are looking to create a network that understands the challenges we face and are ready to be part of the solutions needed to solve them.

The event combines keynotes, panels, case studies, networking, industry engagement, and a career expo on the last day. The career expo is split into a morning session and an afternoon session. The morning will bring in high school junior and seniors from the surrounding area to learn about career paths, available training and more. The afternoon will be open to the public to learn about new career opportunities and pathways.

🇺🇸 Stars Over 6 Independence Day Celebration is almost here! 🇺🇸

We are looking forward to celebrating with everyone this Saturday, July 4, 2026, at the Galveston County Fairgrounds!

Before you head out, here are a few important reminders:
⭐ Gates open at 4:00 p.m.
🪑 Please bring your own lawn chairs so you can relax and enjoy the festivities.
🚫 NO outside food, drinks, or coolers are permitted on the fairgrounds.

🥧 Pie Baking Contest
If you are participating in the Pie Baking Contest, please submit your pie inside Ed Pickett Hall no later than 5:00 p.m. Judging will begin shortly afterward. Pie Baking Entry Forms can be found on the Stars Over 6 City of Santa Fe Webpage linked below.

🇺🇸 Most Patriotic Contest
If you would like to participate in the Most Patriotic Contest, please make your way to the covered pavilion by the stage by 7:50 p.m. Participants will be called to the stage shortly after and judging will begin at approximately 8:05 p.m.

🐑 Mutton Busting
Check-in begins: 4:00 PM
Mutton Busting registration forms and waivers are available on the Stars Over 6 webpage linked below. All completed forms and payment must be submitted directly to the Coastal Kowkids Association. Please submit payment onsite on Saturday. Cash payments are preferred but Venmo and CashApp will be accepted, as well.
