Our team is officially underway at Sam Houston State University’s new Active Learning Center. Crews have mobilized on site, materials are being procured, and work is now in progress.

Cortima is proud to serve as the full flooring contractor for this 46,421-square-foot facility, providing tile flooring, wall tile, LVT, VCT, carpet, rubber base, and sealed concrete finishes throughout the building.

Our team is proud to share another successful project delivered. For this installation, we completed a full solid-color resinous flooring system designed with sand broadcast - built for durability, moisture protection, and long-term performance.

Cortima handled the entire system from prep to topcoat, including:

• Full joint clean-out + filler installation
• Mechanical grinding for perfect adhesion
• Moisture v***r barrier application
• 100% solids epoxy base coat with silica sand broadcast
• Granite Green grout coat for strength + aesthetics
• Polyaspartic top coat for long-term barrier

The Cortima team will be delivering carpeted walkways and tile across key circulation and public spaces, bringing Cortima’s precision craftsmanship to a landmark, data-driven agro-tech facility. This work will produce durable, visually engaging interiors that welcome researchers, students, and visitors alike.

What to expect from our installation:

-Commercial-grade carpeting in high-traffic corridors and demonstration areas

-Durable, easy-to-maintain tile in entrances, classrooms, and public spaces

-Thoughtful edge detailing and seamless transitions between flooring types

-Meticulous subfloor preparation and moisture mitigation to ensure long-term performance

🚧 Project Kickoff: Sam Houston State University – Active Learning Center 🎓

Cortima is excited to announce our involvement in the Sam Houston State University Active Learning Center, a transformative new facility designed to redefine how Bearkats teach and learn.

Located on the site of the former Academic Building III, this 46,421-square-foot project will serve as a central hub for innovative, hands-on instruction across academic disciplines. The Active Learning Center is designed to promote collaboration and engagement through flexible classroom environments, advanced instructional technology, and open, contemporary learning spaces.

Cortima’s scope of work includes the installation of all finished flooring throughout the facility, including:
• Carpet
• Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT)
• Sealed concrete
• TIle

Project Spotlight: Lone Star College – Magnolia Satellite Center

We’re proud to spotlight our work at the Lone Star College Magnolia Satellite Center, a 52,000 SF academic facility designed to expand access to high-quality education for the Magnolia community.

Cortima was honored to contribute to this project through the installation of flooring finishes, helping bring durability, function, and a clean modern aesthetic to key learning spaces.

This state-of-the-art facility includes:
• 10 modern classrooms
• 4 computer labs
• 4 fully equipped science instructional labs

Lone Star College continues to set the standard as one of the nation’s fastest-growing community college systems, and projects like this support students, faculty, and the surrounding community for years to come.

We’re excited to announce that Cortima is currently installing Raised Access Flooring for the Foxconn Data project in Houston.

This flooring creates a hidden, elevated plenum beneath the room’s concrete slab, enabling power, data cabling, and HVAC services to run below the floor rather than overhead. This design supports easier maintenance, rerouting, and future upgrades with minimal disruption to operations.

We’re proud of our team and honored to contribute to a large-scale, high-performance data center project of this caliber.
