Meet our intern, Riley! 👋🏗️

This is Riley’s second season with us at Leeward, and we are very excited for her future! Riley is currently a student at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

When asked what drew her to the field, she shared:

💬 "I chose construction management because I’ve always loved construction so I wanted to learn everything that goes into it and makes it all come together."

Dedication to the craft clearly runs in the family! Riley is pictured here with her father, Bob, who has been a long-standing employee and one of our hardworking, dedicated foremen at Leeward.

Kickstarting our Summer Intern Spotlight series, please join us in giving a warm welcome to the newest member of our team, Riley!

Riley is currently enrolled in the Construction Management program at Pennsylvania College of Technology and brings a fantastic blend of passion and curiosity to the field. When asked about what sparked an interest in this industry, Riley shared:

"I have always enjoyed working with my hands and building things, which is what sparked my interest in construction management. I enjoy learning about the planning, coordination, and teamwork that makes a project successful. As I continue to grow in the industry, I look forward to gaining experience and developing my skills."

At Leeward, we believe the best way to learn is by doing, and we're excited to help Riley grow both personally and professionally.

Leeward, you are cleared for takeoff ✈️

Crews have broke ground on the expansion and modernization of the Wilkes-Barre/Wyoming Valley Airport. This major upgrade will enhance aviation infrastructure throughout the region with the construction of two new hangar buildings, new taxiways and access lanes, a Jet-A fueling system, a dedicated helicopter fuel pad, and a state-of-the-art automated weather observation system.

These improvements will help meet growing aircraft parking demand, support pilot training programs, and strengthen critical services for medevac and state police operations.

We’re excited to help deliver a project that will keep the region moving forward and support the future of aviation in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Stay tuned as construction progresses! 🚧✈️
