It was a great turnout for the WJTA Golf Tournament on Monday! Thank you to our colleagues visiting from SPIR STAR Germany, customers and industry partners who participated and rolled up to the SPIR STAR tent, especially all you brave fireball challenge participants. Y'all are good sports!

People in this industry work hard and play hard but most of all they support the associations and the companies making it safer and better for everyone. The 13/2WR hose type is a great example of listening to the needs of customers and acting on those needs. This hose type is commonly used as supply hose in the high pressure water blasting industry and as grease injection hose in the oil and gas industry.

It is hard to believe, but it has now been over twenty years that the request was made of us in both the water blasting and oil and gas industry to develop a 1/2" ID 15,000 psi working pressure hose that was lighter in weight and more flexible than the standard rubber 15,000 psi hose that was commonly used. The result of those requests was the 13/2WR, which is less than twenty-five pounds in weight per fifty foot section and has a bend radius of six inches.

The WR series of hose also includes the 8/2WR which is a 5/16” ID, 15,000 psi working pressure hose type, both having an extruded outer cover of durable Polyurethane, holding up to the tough applications and environments they are used in. Both hose types have proven to be durable, reliable, and effective for over twenty years, and continue to be a popular choice for those looking for flexibility and weight savings. This hose series is just one of several examples we have of the needs and requests of the industries that we serve dictating new product development over the years. It's almost sold out! October is here and that means we're getting excited for the WJTA Golf Tournament at Wildcat Golf Club in Houston on October 26. Past participants tell us it's one of their best networking events of the year! A different conversation in a relaxed environment can lead to unexpected results even if you your golf game isn't "up to par." 20 YEARS? That's right, for over 20 years, SPIR STAR has been manufacturing PTFE hose. Almost 1000FT of the popular 25/4 hose type is shown here, finishing up and shipping soon. The 25/4 is a popular hose type, generally as fluid or gas supply line due its inner diameter of 1”, working pressure of 13,000 psi, and relatively light weight and flexibility for a 1” ID hose. The hose and 1-5/16” Type M end fittings for these twenty assemblies all came from stock in our Houston facility with no long lead times, and no delays. We've been building high-pressure confidence for more than 30 years. The hose type 8/6 is one of our ORIGINAL hose types and in all the time we've been manufacturing and introducing all types of new hose, it is STILL a go-to for many of our customers because of it's dependability and versatility. With an 8mm (5/16”) ID and working pressure of 30,450 psi, the 8/6 is used in several applications such as high-pressure WATER BLASTING, AUTOMOTIVE MANUFACTURING processes, and very commonly in HIGH PRESSURE TESTING applications.
For an 8mm hose with a working pressure over 30,000 psi it is lightweight at .429 lbs./ft and flexible with a minimum bend radius of less than ten inches. Common end fittings used for 8/6 assemblies are the Type M female and high-pressure male tube ni**le, but other fittings such as metric male and female options are available as well.

Many people know us for our superior hose products, but we also have huge in-stock selection of needle, ball, and check valves with working pressures up to 100,000 psi as well as air actuated, relief, double block and bleed and non-standard valves. Today, it's all about actuated valves.
