Great relationships go beyond the job site! 🎣

This past weekend, we traded hard hats for fishing rods and headed to Matagorda for a little time on the water with some great customers.
Plenty of big catches, good laughs, and even a few fresh fish on the dinner table!

There’s something changing in the air… 🍂

No, we’re not talking about the Houston temperatures. 😂

Fall may be coming, but more importantly, it seems like the oilfield is waking up.

Trip tanks. Choke manifold skids. Shaker tanks. We’re seeing more drilling equipment moving through the Reaves shop — and we like what we’re seeing. Something’s definitely in the air.

Field structural fabrication often starts right here at Reaves Welding Industries — cutting, fitting, welding and fabricating the components in our shop. 𝐵𝑢𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡'𝑠 𝑜𝑛𝑙𝑦 ℎ𝑎𝑙𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑗𝑜𝑏.

Once fabrication is complete, everything is loaded up and transported to the jobsite, where our field crews take over — erecting, installing and completing the structure where it belongs.

It takes planning, precision and a team that knows how to take a project from shop floor to jobsite.

This Labor Day, we recognize every member of the Reaves Welding Industries team — in the shop and in the field — whose skill, strength and hard work keep our customers moving.

Our In-Service Pipeline Sleeve and Pumpkin Welding Team works in the pipeline ROW, down in the ditch, performing highly skilled welding on live, flowing gas pipelines.

Not every weld is created equal. And this one is headed for some pretty extreme conditions.

The Reaves Welding team is welding 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐩𝐢𝐩𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐍𝐀𝐒𝐀, designed for 𝐜𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞.

When temperatures drop to ultra-low cryogenic levels, material selection, weld quality and inspection become even more critical. Austenitic stainless steels are well suited for these applications because they retain their strength and toughness at extremely low temperatures.

And the inspection requirements? Just as serious.

This work includes helium leak testing — a highly sensitive, non-destructive testing method capable of detecting extremely small leaks using helium as a safe, inert tracer gas.

🔥 August in Houston. 117° heat index. Welding shop.🔥

Sometimes safety looks like PPE, procedures and knowing the job. And sometimes it looks like Company Melon at 2 PM. 🍉

Watermelon and cantaloupe are made up of roughly 90% water, making them a pretty solid afternoon snack when the Texas heat is doing what Texas heat does.

Taking a few minutes to cool down, hydrate and look out for each other helps keep everyone safe and ready to finish the day strong.
Because taking care of the crew is part of taking care of the job.
