In the heat of the summer it is common for capacitors to fail. The symptoms of a failed capacitor are either the fan motor not starting or the compressor humming and shutting off every few minutes or not starting at all. The capacitor should be perfectly flat on top. If it has a slight dome shape on the top where the wires come out it has overheated and failed and needs replaced. We have most capacitors in stock.
