Happy Pi Day!

In our office we sure do love pi (and pie). Here are a few architectural uses of Andy's favorite ratio, to inspire your next great space – or your next vacation.

On March 14th, we celebrate the centuries-old circumference-calculating tool that has helped us conceptualize incredible circular architecture. Happy Pi day, architects!

PROJECT FRIDAY :: Our partners at Incept3D are working with us on one of our largest and most ambitious projects to date. Using a Revit file, they developed a detailed full-color model of the Muslim Community Center of Greater San Diego we are currently developing with their leadership team. The model brings our drawings to life, including intricate details present in the building design – and complete with a removable roof to help better understand orientation of the space.

We transformed a completely unprintable Revit file into a full-color, highly detailed, show-quality model.

PROJECT FRIDAY :: A landmark exhibition has opened at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., which brings children’s books to life through a series of immersive landscapes. Curated by Leonard Marcus, Building Stories occupies 4,000 square feet on the ground floor of the museum, in which mural-sized illustrations and multimedia components compose the exhibition, with related programming running adjacent to the space.

Building Stories at the National Building Museum shows the relationship between book and building design through immersive exhibition design.
