Here at the Lafayette Engine Center, we are in the middle of our United Way campaign, and we hosted two fundraising tournaments that have become annual favorites: Co****le for a Cause and Hoops for Hope! The weather was lovely, and the competition was fierce.

A big congrats to Noah Witkowski and Turner Plumer, who dominated in the 1st shift co****le tournament, to Zach Deno and Chris Carroll, who won it all on 2nd shift, and to Holly Prior and Jeff Kyle, who took the trophy on 3rd shift.

Our basketball tournament was just as exciting! Brian Allen took home the prize on 1st shift, Chris Carroll won the trophy on 2nd shift, and Vander Mayo was our 3rd shift winner!

Thanks to everyone who helped organize and set up for the tournaments. There would be no fun, excitement, or money being raised for United Way without your time and dedication!

Our fundraising festivities continued at the annual United Way Golf Scramble! Twenty-three four-person teams competed for prizes to benefit United Way of Greater Lafayette.

Congratulations to all our winners! The winning team was comprised of Kaleb Peters, William Baxter, Kristian Peters, and Kameron Peters.

Thanks to our amazing employees for organizing and participating in the scramble and for giving back to our communities!

Today is National Dog Day, so we're using this opportunity to highlight a recent canine-related volunteer effort! The Caterpillar Lafayette HR team spent the morning at Natalie's Second Chance Dog Shelter walking the cutest pups in all of Greater Lafayette.

Learning & Development Manager Deone Comage was one of the volunteers. “It was a great three-for-one: play with puppies, spend time getting to know my team, and demonstrate our Caterpillar culture in the community,” she shared. “Such a cool way to give back.”

Thanks to Deone and the rest of our incredible Human Resources professionals for donating their time and making a difference!

Please join us in congratulating Denny Howard on his 25-year service anniversary! Denny originally joined the Caterpillar team in 2001, starting his career on the crank line in our machine shop. Since then, he has spent decades working in various roles across the Lafayette Engine Center. Denny joined the fire brigade and has worked on the 3600 block line, on the assembly main line, in test, in reman and teardown, and more. He's now back in the machine shop on our C175 block line.

“It feels good making a good product, getting it out the door, and knowing that's reflected in our profits,” Denny shared.

Thank you for your many important contributions to Caterpillar over the last quarter century, Denny! Congratulations on this incredible milestone!

This week, the Caterpillar Lafayette campus kicked off the 2026 United Way campaign with a dunk tank, good food, and camaraderie! Our employees got the chance to send their leaders into a tank of cold water while eating walking tacos and raising funds for the community. All proceeds from the event will benefit United Way of Greater Lafayette!

We're so excited for this year's campaign and looking forward to seeing the enthusiasm our people have for giving back and making a difference.

We're excited for weeks of fundraising, auctions, dunk tanks, chicken-eating contests, basketball and co****le competitions, motorcycle rides, and more! These fun activities would not be possible without this amazing team that organizes and runs the campaign. Thanks for all you're doing!

Please join us in congratulating Tracy Reed on her 25-year service anniversary! Tracy originally joined the Caterpillar team in 2001 as a member of the head line on our third shift. This proved to be a great place to learn the business, develop skills, and begin a career that has now spanned a quarter of a century.

Over the years, Tracy has held many different roles and has worked on a wide range of teams. She now serves as a BIQ team lead.

“I am most passionate about driving a culture of quality and continuous improvement,” Tracy shared. “I take pride in helping employees understand processes, develop technical knowledge, and build the skills needed to produce high-quality work. Knowing that my efforts contribute to employees' success in the business is very fulfilling.”
