Friday Breakfast of Champions- The fight for the Golden Spatula!

Today’s challengers: Our Roof Consultants & Account Development Reps!

Their theme today was sweet & savory with a French Toast Casserole & a Hashbrown Casserole. They also included another option of a fabulous parfait bar (although we saw a scary side of Ed with that knife🫣)

Remember to follow along and help us vote at the end of September to see which department will win! Up next is our Service Department

Today we also looked at the top 10 OSHA violations across the board to learn that the number one for many years in a row has been Fall Protection with a lot of those violations coming from working on roofs

This was a solemn statistic as Fall Protection is the safety topic we cover the most. A quote we often say around here is “Nothing on the job you do today will be more important than going home to your family and loved ones”

One of the main differentiators of Moser Roofing Solutions is our commitment to both the safety of our team as well as safety for our customers. We do not compromise safety ever

We then had an intense game of Roofing Jeopardy which covered safety, installation, repair, materials, and team member questions. It was a tough battle to the end with multiple teams trying to join together to beat one another. We’ll let you guys decide- is that cheating or team bonding🤔

Wrapping it up was our Fire Poker Award winner! Cortney Schaeffer, one of our Account Representatives, was nominated by numerous employees across departments. You have probably heard her kind voice over the phone answering customer questions and making connections with members on the team, but she is always the first person to cheer our team members on during birthdays, anniversaries, and other employee celebrations as well as is an eager volunteer to help with the events that we host

Sometimes, things do not go 100% to plan

The other week, our crew made a mistake and ended up working too late in the day while replacing a roof which disrupted the residents below

We messed up, so we owned it

The next big question was how do we make it up to them? After much thought, it hit us...

Have an ice cream party! 🍨

We contacted their staff, and they loved the idea. They decided they wanted to take it up a notch and put up some water inflatables and bubble machines to make a "car wash" for folks to go through and have a be a big party

The big day came and unfortunately, the ice cream truck called to tell us that the truck had broken down on the highway and would not be able to make it😔

Our team was not ready to throw in the towel just yet though! We ended up driving all around the area picking up ice cream bars from shops nearby and made it back in time to serve up some sweet treats while dancing through bubbles and singing along to the song "Car Wash" by Rose Royce🕺

Overall, it was a blast to walk around and get to connect more with the residents. What seemed like problem after problem turned out to be the best solution

Friday Morning Breakfast of Champions: Breakfast Burittos made by our Estimating Team🌯

Each burrito had eggs, turkey sausage, bacon, potatoes, cheese, carmelized onions and plenty of great toppings like homemade pico, guacamole, sour cream, with lots of different hot sauce options

Follow along as each of our departments compete to win the Golden Spatula for the best breakfast and vote on your favorites as we go. The final judgement will happen at the end of September, and we will need YOUR help deciding!🏆

Today’s meeting covered falls from accidental slips that lead to accidents. We watched an educational video on how to avoid slippy situations to help prevent accidents. Falls & slips on a roof are something to take very seriously

We also continued our theme from our last week of Flywheels. Flywheels are all about how it takes a team working in sync to start momentum & keep things going

To demonstrate that, we brought out some extra small hula hoops and had everyone hold onto each other in a line and figure out how to get the hula hoop from one end of the line to the other without breaking the connection.

Team 2 was our winner by 3 seconds! Their method was to bend the line into a circle (supposedly not cheating since they were still holding onto each other🤔), and have the first person in the line hold the hula hoop to have team members jump through

It took a lot of trust to make that plan happen because they only had 30 seconds to figure out what they were doing before they started. Not every problem you get in life comes with a ton of time to solve it, so it’s great to do small challenges like this to literally get you up on your feet and thinking fast.
