Project News: The Park at Expo Idaho receives Award

Congratulations to PORT on receiving the Award of Excellence in the Concept Public Space category from the World Landscape Architecture Awards. TJK is proud to provide the Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, and Technology engineering design for this exciting transformation of the former horse racetrack into a new community park with skate and play areas, pavilions, and gathering spaces.

We look forward to celebrating the ribbon cutting in October and seeing this new community space come to life.

We're pleased to announce Jose Barreto, PE as TJK's new Director of Electrical Engineering.

Jose is a licensed Professional Electrical Engineer with experience leading electrical engineering projects across a wide range of market sectors. His background includes MEP consulting, renewable energy, and contractor side engineering, giving him a well rounded perspective on the design and construction process.

A Las Vegas resident since 1994 and a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Jose has built his career delivering thoughtful engineering solutions, mentoring technical staff, and leading multidisciplinary teams through every phase of design.

Las Vegas has been home to Jose since 1994 and played an important role in shaping his path to engineering. Inspired by an early interest in math and science, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from UNLV before beginning his career in the MEP industry.

Forty years ago, TJK began with a public works project at what was then McCarran International Airport.

Since then, we've grown alongside the communities we serve. While engineering has changed from drafting tables and hand drawn plans to today's digital tools, our commitment to designing projects that support communities has remained the same.

This month marked the hose-cutting ceremony for the new Mesquite Fire Station #2, a project that will bring another layer of safety to the Mesquite Community. The station will house six firefighters and serve the Sun City area. TJK is proud to be the Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, and Technology engineering partner on the project. Congratulations to the City of Mesquite, Mesquite Fire & Rescue, and the entire project team on this milestone.

TJK enjoyed a great day out at the AIA Idaho - The American Institute of Architects Idaho Golf Tournament.

We were proud to be the Title Sponsor this year and spend the day connecting with the architecture, engineering, and construction community. Our Spin to Win prizes were once again a fun draw to our table and the raffle prizes of a pair of Ray-Bans and a Howler Brothers shirt were a big hit.

The best part of this industry is the people. We always appreciate the conversations, connections, and time spent with clients, partners, and friends throughout the day.

Thanks to AIA Idaho for putting together another great tournament!
