Our Auto Collision Repair program is excited to partner with OAC member Bill Flannery Automotive to bring a brand-new PPG paint system into our lab!
By expanding the variety of equipment our students train on, we ensure they build the versatile, hands-on skills needed to hit the ground running.
Valuable collaborations like this help bridge the gap between classroom and industry to keep our grads workforce ready!

Pennsylvania just announced $3.5M in PAsmart grants across 17 organizations to expand Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways in high-demand trades.
As part of this initiative, MCCC received a $280,000 grant to partner with Western Montgomery CTC and Eastern Center for Arts and Technology.

Together, we are launching evening welding programs in our existing labsโ€”offering flexible, fast-track credentials for adult learners balancing jobs or caregiving while helping local manufacturers fill critical workforce shortages.

What a great example of regional programs sharing resources to meet learners where they are and deliver real results for our community!

At Western Montgomery Career and Technology Center, we believe career and technical education is about more than learning skills in the classroom. It's about challenging students to apply those skills in real world settings, work alongside industry professionals, and showcase the incredible talent found in today's skilled trades.

That's why we're proud to participate in events like the Project MFG Competition.

Project MFG shines a spotlight on the next generation of skilled trades professionals while helping address the growing workforce needs across our country. These competitions give students the opportunity to test their abilities, build confidence, solve real problems under pressure, and gain exposure to employers and industry leaders.

For WMCTC, participating in events like this reinforces our commitment to providing authentic, hands on learning experiences that prepare students for successful careers after graduation. It also highlights the outstanding instruction, industry partnerships, and opportunities available to our students every day.

We're excited to share this behind the scenes look at the Project MFG competition, where you'll catch a glimpse of two of our talented welding students, Landon and Shauna, along with their instructor, Tom Bartholomew, representing WMCTC on a national stage.

๐Ÿฅ‡ National Stage. Outstanding Performance. Incredible Future.๐Ÿฅ‡

Western Montgomery Career and Technology Center is incredibly proud of Anya Castner, a 10th grade student from the Spring-Ford Area School District, for representing WMCTC at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference.

Competing against some of the best career and technical education students from across the country is no small accomplishment. Anya embraced the challenge with confidence, professionalism, and determination, proving herself to be a fierce competitor on the national stage.

Her dedication to her craft, willingness to push herself, and commitment to excellence made our entire WMCTC community proud. The experience she gained at Nationals will no doubt serve her well as she returns for the 2026-2027 school year as an 11th grade student, ready to continue building on her success.

Congratulations, Anya! Thank you for representing WMCTC with pride, and we can't wait to see what you accomplish next!

Why CTE?

Choosing a Career and Technical Education (CTE) program isn't just about learning a trade. It's about building a future.

In Pennsylvania, more than 67,000 high school students are already enrolled in CTE programs, gaining hands on experience, earning industry recognized credentials, and preparing for careers in high demand fields.

Here's why so many students and families are choosing CTE:

๐ŸŽ“ Students graduate at higher rates.
Pennsylvania CTE students graduate at a rate of 96.7%, compared to 88% for all students statewide.

๐Ÿ† Earn credentials before graduation.
In 2024, 85% of Pennsylvania CTE concentrators earned an industry recognized credential, giving them a competitive advantage before they even leave high school.

๐Ÿ’ผ Be career ready.
CTE students gain real world experience through internships, cooperative education, clinical experiences, and industry partnerships, building the skills employers are looking for.

๐Ÿ“š Keep your options open.
CTE is not an either/or decision. Whether your goal is college, an apprenticeship, military service, or entering the workforce, CTE provides a strong foundation for your future. In fact, more than 30,000 certificates and associate degrees in CTE fields were awarded to Pennsylvania students in a single year.

At Western Montgomery Career and Technology Center, our students don't have to choose between preparing for college or preparing for a career. They graduate ready for both.

Find your passion. Build your skills. Create your future.

๐Ÿพ They're Coming Back! ๐Ÿพ

One of our favorite days of the school year is almost here!

We're excited to welcome back our furry friends from Sniff, Sniff Hooray and our wonderful partner, Lisa Iffland, for another visit to Western Montgomery Career and Technology Center.

These therapy dog visits provide our students and staff with an opportunity to pause, recharge, and enjoy some well deserved smiles. Whether it's a wagging tail, a friendly nuzzle, or a few quiet moments with one of these amazing dogs, their visits always have a positive impact on our school community.

As we look ahead to their return, we're sharing a few memories from their visit in June... and of course, some adorable puppy pictures! ๐Ÿถโค๏ธ

A huge thank you to Lisa Iffland and the entire Sniff, Sniff Hooray team for investing in our students and helping make WMCTC a place where learning and wellness go hand in hand.

We can't wait to see you all again soon!
