🎉 Congratulations to Chef Tim McGinnis and Chef Tina Arnt on receiving the 2026 PerkUp Education Award from the Upper Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce!

This honor recognizes the passion, leadership, and dedication they bring to culinary education and the countless opportunities they create for WMCTC students.

Over the past year, Chef McGinnis and Chef Arnt have continued to provide students with authentic, high-level learning experiences, including coordinating and executing a State Dinner featuring former White House Social Secretary and community leader Deesha Dyer. Through opportunities like this, students gain firsthand experience in planning, preparing, and serving events that reflect professional industry standards.

Congratulations to Landon Paar, a senior from Upper Perkiomen School District and a Level 4 student in the Welding program at Western Montgomery Career & Technology Center, on earning the rank of Eagle Scout! 🦅👏

For his Eagle Scout project, Landon designed and built a new refreshment bar for The Open Link, an organization that serves the greater Upper Perkiomen Valley community. The project included removing the old coffee bar and creating a more functional and welcoming space with added cabinets and shelving to improve storage, appearance, and usability for staff, volunteers, seniors, and community members.

Landon’s project reflects the leadership, craftsmanship, and dedication to service that we are proud to help develop at WMCTC. Through both his work in Scouting and in our Welding program, Landon has demonstrated the importance of using technical skills to make a positive impact in the community.

We are proud to celebrate this outstanding accomplishment and congratulate Landon on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout! 💙💛

🛹🎨➡️🚘 A great example of cross-program collaboration at Western Center!

After designing their custom skateboards in our PM Commercial Arts program, students took their projects to the Auto Collision Technology lab to put the finishing touches on their work with professional clear coating techniques.

Under the guidance of Mr. Hoffman, students learned proper spray application techniques, shop safety procedures, and the importance of wearing appropriate PPE while working in a professional lab environment. This hands-on experience gave students valuable insight into real-world finishing processes used throughout the automotive and manufacturing industries.

Collaborative projects like this help students see how creative design and technical skills work together in real-world careers while also giving them experience using industry-standard equipment and techniques.

We are proud of the creativity, teamwork, and talent our students continue to demonstrate across programs! 👏

🔧🚗 Exploring career pathways in the automotive industry!

Our Year 2 Automotive students recently had the opportunity to visit several outstanding industry partners to learn more about the many career opportunities available in the automotive field. Stops included visits to Tim Uba Automotive, Hardline 4x4, and Nissan 422 of Limerick.

During these experiences, students gained firsthand insight into the skills, technology, professionalism, and teamwork that drive today’s automotive industry. From custom builds and performance work to dealership operations and automotive service careers, students were able to see how the concepts they learn in the classroom connect directly to real-world careers.

Experiences like these are an important part of Career and Technical Education because they allow students to explore career pathways, build industry connections, and better understand the opportunities available after graduation.

A huge thank you to Tim Uba Automotive, Hardline 4x4, and Nissan 422 of Limerick for welcoming our students and investing in the future workforce. Your partnership and support help provide meaningful learning experiences that prepare our students for success! 👏
