Conventional wisdom says you need an angular abrasive like aluminum oxide for proper coating adhesion, and if you think about it, that does make sense. Glass bead should roll off the surface without ever really etching it. But when we blasted our samples in our surface finishing equipment, both wet and dry blasting far exceeded our expectations when we tested the adhesion with ASTM D3359 standards.
