Gas ➡️ Electric: The Ultimate Living Room Glow Up. ✨🪵

We didn’t just change the look of this room; we changed how it functions.
💡 The Problem:
The old gas fireplace was way too close to the thermostat. Every time they turned it on, it heated the hallway and shut off the furnace for the rest of the house! 🥶

✅ The Fix:
We swapped it for a sleek linear electric unit from . Now, the homeowners get the ambiance of a fire without the heat (unless they want it!). No more thermostat wars.
🔨 The Build:
• Wood: We processed raw walnut butcher block slabs in-house (shoutout to the track saw!) to create these floating shelves and countertops.
• Walls: We installed this incredible custom walnut shiplap—milled to perfection by .
• Finish: Huge thanks to Landmark Finishing for the flawless clear coat and factory-finish green paint.
• Power: Hawkins Electric pulled two brand new circuits to handle the fireplace and the 9 hidden outlets.
• Homeowner Detail: The original plan was to use standard brown outlet covers, but the homeowner found real walnut covers (from wallplates.com) that blend perfectly into the shiplap.

Part 3 of 3: The Grand Reveal! 🎬✨

The transformation is officially complete! Seeing these rooms transition from a 2D CAD layout to a high-end living space is the ultimate payoff. At Shadow Pine Construction, we don’t just build walls; we coordinate every moving part—from precision HVAC, plumbing, and electrical—to ensure the final result is seamless.

The Custom Details That Set This Project Apart:
🚪The Door Upgrade: We swapped out the standard patio slider for a beautiful swing door with integrated blinds. It’s a major upgrade for both privacy and aesthetic.
🐈 The Clever Recessed Nook: We designed a custom niche into the wall for a dedicated cat feeding station and towel storage for the bathroom. This allowed us to add massive utility without shrinking the bathroom’s footprint.
🐠 Fish Tank Pro-Tip: We installed a dedicated hot and cold water hose bib in the laundry room specifically for easy fish tank maintenance.
🍻Entertainment & Bar: A custom wet bar and a professional-grade projector setup, all backed by heavy-duty Rockwool soundproofing so the rest of the house stays quiet during movie night.

Part 2 of 3: The Vision Takes Shape! 🏠📐

It’s one thing to see a layout on a screen, but seeing it come to life in person is the best part of the job. At Shadow Pine Construction, we start every project with a detailed 2D CAD layout. This allows our homeowners to approve every detail and the flow of the space before we ever pick up a hammer. 💻🔨

The space really came alive once the drywall went up. Seeing those 2D lines turn into actual rooms is when the transformation finally feels real!

From “Lame” to Loaded: Part 1 of 3! 🏠

We started this project with a completely blank canvas. Most home builders leave behind a “standard” layout, but it usually lacks imagination. That’s where Shadow Pine Construction shines. We sat down with the homeowners, listened to their needs, and scrapped the “lame” original plan for a unique, custom layout that maximizes both form and function. 📐✨

Once the design was set, we followed our proven process:
1️⃣ Framing: Setting the bones for the new space.
2️⃣ The Subs: HVAC came in first to ensure the space is perfectly conditioned, followed by the plumbing and electrical rough-ins. ⚡️🚿

The SPC Difference: Because this family is entertainment-focused, I recommended we pack the floor system and walls with Rockwool. It’s a game-changer for dampening noise so the theater room doesn’t wake up the bedrooms. 🔇
Adding that extra layer of quiet makes this basement feel like it’s in its own world. 🛸

Honestly, I’m just floored by how this one turned out. 🥁💥

In all seriousness, this project was a blast. We took a blank slate and turned it into a cozy, finished retreat. We did the heavy lifting on the floor, tucked in some high-end insulation, and finished it off with clean trim and fresh paint.
It went from a “don’t go in there” room to the “I’m never leaving” room.

What we did:
• ✅ Made the floor flat (a novel concept, I know).
• ✅ Made the room “four seasons” friendly.
• ✅ Made the whole place look brand new.

Two years ago, Shadow Pine Construction started with a vision to do what we love and to do things differently.
Since then, we’ve worked with incredible clients, tackled challenging projects, and built something we’re truly proud of.

This past year brought even more growth — welcoming Gabe as our Project Manager and Jacob as our part-time drafter. The future’s looking bright, and we’re just getting started.

What began as a weathered old deck is now a stunning reimagining of outdoor living. 🌲

We removed the original structure and replaced it with a custom-designed 3-season porch and grill deck, fully drafted in-house. The new layout offers a screened-in lounge area for relaxing and a separate open-air deck for grilling—built with both comfort and function in mind.

We used Trex composite decking for durability, paired with Westbury Tuscany bronze aluminum railings for a clean, timeless finish. The porch is wrapped in an EZEScreen panel system, with the gable dressed in LP SmartSide board and batten to blend beautifully with the home.

Inside, the porch features a tongue-and-groove pine ceiling, recessed lighting, and a ceiling fan—bringing the feel of an interior room into an outdoor setting.

Now, the upper level offers a calm, comfortable retreat, and the shaded patio below is more usable than ever. This space isn’t just an upgrade—it’s a whole new way to enjoy home.

Sometimes the job isn’t about starting from scratch — it’s about finishing the right way.

We were brought in to wrap up a tray ceiling that was in progress with less-than-ideal install work. Instead of tearing it all out, we came up with a clean fix: faux beams using WindsorONE to hide the rough corners and bring it all together.

removed two can lights and installed sleek ceiling fans to finish off the space.paintingmn added fresh paint on the ceiling and beams to tie it all in. Now it looks like it was built this way from the start!
