NAWIC Greater Little Rock Chapter

NAWIC Greater Little Rock Chapter The National Association for Women in Construction (NAWIC) promotes and supports advancement and employment of women in the construction industry.

We are a very active chapter with many programs, projects and events through out the year. Our biggest event is an annual golf tournament that serves as our major fundraiser to help promote our programs, community service projects, and our annual scholarship. Recent programs include Block Kids. This program to introduces children in grades K-5 to the construction industry and CAD Design & Drafting

– a program which promotes the design phase of the construction industry; Each of these programs is set up for the participants to potentially be awarded cash prizes at the local, regional and national level. Recent Community service projects include building a deck at Camp Aldersgate, constructing doll houses to be auctioned at the American Heart Association of Arkansas’ annual Heart Ball, and playing Santa Claus to groups of children each year at the Arkansas School for the Deaf.

We are honored and excited to announce that the NAWIC Greater Little Rock Chapter received the WIC Week Award at the 2026 South Central Region Spring Forum!

This recognition reflects the hard work, dedication, and passion of our WIC Week Committee, chapter members, sponsors, and community partners who helped make this year’s events such a success. Thank you to everyone who supported, attended, volunteered, partnered, and sponsored throughout the week. Your support continues to strengthen and advance women in construction across Arkansas and beyond.

During WIC Week, we amplified the contributions and achievements of women in construction and construction-related fields by promoting and celebrating women in the industry through our Women in Industry Leadership Breakfast.

We educated the public and industry peers about the opportunities available to women in construction through the Artspace Windgate Campus Jobsite Tour, followed by an evening networking reception that encouraged mentorship, collaboration, and industry connections.

We inspired the next generation of builders, engineers, and tradespeople by getting hands-on with construction-related activities during our Habitat for Humanity of Central Arkansas Volunteer Day, demonstrating the impact the construction industry has on families and communities.

Thank you again to our sponsors, partners, members, volunteers, and community supporters for helping make this award possible. Together, we continue building a stronger future for women in construction.

NAWIC Greater Little Rock Chapter members had the privilege of touring the Forest of Hope Family Peace Center with Board Member Cathy Browne. The center is expected to open in June 2026, expanding the Women & Children First's shelter.

For decades, Women and Children First has been a lifeline for families in crisis, offering safety and support. WCF have taken the steps to expand their impact with a new shelter featuring 44 rooms and 132 beds, alongside a comprehensive Family Peace Center. This center will bring together all the critical services a survivor needs under one roof, making the journey to safety and stability more seamless. What once required navigating multiple agencies over several weeks will soon be achieved in just a few days by simply walking down the hall.
