We were honored to partner with Team Archer Marine on the Freaky Fast 32 Speedster creating a custom wraparound windshield with a two-part mold specifically for this one-of-a-kind V-bottom powerboat. This bespoke component was a key part of the boat’s debut at the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout, where performance and style go hand in hand.

“𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲 𝟵𝟬𝟲 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆”

This photo was taken at Pebble Beach in 1990. The car is a Porsche 906 LH (langheck or in English, longtail ) chassis 153 and was one of four constructed by Porsche in 1966 - one was used as a test car and the other three were entered at Le Mans that year.

This car driven by Siffert and Davis finished 4th overall behind the trio of Ford GT40's, it also claimed 1st in class and the Index of Performance. The car was later converted back to a regular short tail and when I found it in France in the late 80's, it was a rolling chassis. The restoration was complicated as no molds were available for the long tail and only with the cooperation of Porsche was I able to get a copy of the original drawings and the mold and tail was built using them. Today, 906-153 is the only long tail example in existence.

ACW was responsible for all the plexiglass - door windows, vents and the rear window with the correct yellow tinted material.

A one off replica of the #30 906 long tail has been built and is featured in the film, "Ford V Ferrari" starring Matt Damon and Christian Bale. ACW provided plexiglass for the 906 as shown in the film.

Big shoutout and Thank You to Vince Tjelmeland from Sabina Motors. Aircraft Windshield’s father and son duo made his windscreen for his restored 1975 Lola 332- which is the same type Danny Onigas drive in the 1975 Grand Prix of Long Beach. We love amazing stories like this- Vince and his dad, Les, attended the very first Long Beach Grand Prix in 1975 and this year raced in the Historic Formula Exhibition

Vince Tjelmeland was 17 when he first watched cars whip around the streets of Long Beach. At 67, he’ll be driving the track in a historic exhibition race.

Aircraft Windshield Company made a fresh Windscreen for a featured car at the Long Beach Grand Prix- check out Vince Tjelmeland’s F5000 Lola T332 driven by Danny Ongias in the 1975 Long Beach Grand Prix. Vince and his father, Les, attended the very first Long Beach Grand Prix in 1975! And this year he competed in the Historic Formula Exhibition to celebrate the 50 year history.

Big thank you to our friends Art “Dutch” Van Diggelen and his son Eric for sharing these great photos of his Triumph Spitfire Macau. This car was a 10 year build, it is a recreation of a prototype that the Triumph Competition Department built for one of their dealers in Japan to run in the 1965 Macau Grand Prix. Aircraft Windshield Company created the windshield and custom headlights.

Chris from GossHawk Unlimited sent us these incredible photos the freshly installed windows for theConsolidated Aircraft Co. PB4Y-2. It was built in 1945 in San Diego and is the only airworthy example remaining of the 700+ made. With 4 Wright R2600-35 engines purring, it sounds good. Aircraft Windshield company is grateful to have helped with the project by casting molds from the original windows to create the new windshield and side windows! Thank you for the opportunity !
