Reliable Wastewater Level and Flow Measurement

When a Midwest steel plant needed reliable level measurement of their wastewater processes, they turned to Flowline. The plant uses immersion baths with diluted hydrochloric acid to remove scale, rust and iron oxides from their carbon steel products. The resulting waste streams are highly corrosive, foaming and filled with metal particulates. They pretreat their wastewater on site and release it to the city for final treatment. The I&C lead needed reliable non-contact level and open channel flow measurement. For this reason, Flowline suggested our LR83 radar sensors for the foaming clarifiers, and our DL14 ultrasonic sensors for the baffeled weir box. Stormwater Open Channel Flow Radar Level Measurement

When a large California amusement park needed reliable flow measurement of their drainage canal, they turned to Flowline. The canal runs adjacent to the parking lot and receives the stormwater run-off from the facility. The park is exploring the cost and value of reclaiming this water starting with a long-term study to determine the probable amounts by season. To do so, they setup a temporary weir in the canal that’s tied to a data logger. The system integrator needed an accurate and reliable open channel flow sensor that can linearize the signal for this custom shaped structure. For this reason, Flowline suggested our LR80 radar sensor that’s unaffected by environmental conditions, and easily linearized to standard or custom weir shapes using our LevelTap app. The radar sensor provides accurate, linearized flow data to the data logger. Koi Pond Recirculation Radar Tank Level Measurement

When an Oklahoma golf club needed reliable level measurement of their Koi pond water recirculation tank, they turned to Flowline. Water recirculation, oxygenation and filtration are required to maintain a thriving pond. A variable speed pump steadily pulls water from the pond, pushes it through a sand filter, and transfers it to an elevated tank, where it gravity feeds back to the pond. The system is tank level driven. From which, a PLC modulates pump speed and actuates a valve to replace evaporated water loss. The integrator said, “These fish are worth about $15k. My client needs bullet proof measurement in all weather conditions, and they want to indicate tank level gallons inside the maintenance shed.” For this reason, Flowline suggested our LR80 radar sensor and LI55 level indicator. The radar sensor provides reliable level data to level indicator which repeats the signal to the PLC. Flowline is reliable level measurement.

Drinking Water Clear Well Ultrasonic Level Measurement

When a Colombian municipality needed reliable level measurement of their drinking water clear wells, they turned to Flowline. Clear wells provide a buffer between the treatment plants output and the water distribution systems demand. In which, the plant injects sodium hypochlorite to eliminate any remaining pathogens before the water gets to consumers. There the IC&E manager said he was dissatisfied with a different brand of ultrasonic level sensors, because they became erratic during peak summer heat, humidity and condensation. Food Waste Pump Station Radar Level Measurement

When an Ohio food waste processor needed reliable level measurement of their problematic pump station, they turned to Flowline. The firm collects, separates and dewaters food waste in preparation for digestion or composting. Their liquid waste stream is almost a slurry, filled with particulates and residual cooking oil. There the technician wanted to replace a failed pressure level sensor with our reliable LR83 radar sensor. The challenge was sensor mounting location and measurement space. The pump enclosure door opens over the station, so the sensor had to be mounted in the enclosure, placed between the pipes, and measure past a second sump top wall. To do so, we pointed him to the EchoCurve in our LevelTap app, where he mapped out the second sump top wall reflection in a few clicks. Filter Bed Skim Conveyor Ultrasonic Level Measurement

When a Canadian manufacturer of automotive cushions needed reliable level detection of their filter bed skim conveyor, they turned to Flowline. The firm prototypes and produces seat, arm and headrest cushions for auto manufacturers, and foam shavings are in their wastewater. There the shavings are periodically removed via conveyor belt and dumped in a recycling bin. The integrator needed a reliable way of detecting the presence or absence of foam on the belt with an absence relay to signal the VFD to turn off the conveyor. For this reason, Flowline suggested our non-contact DL14 ultrasonic sensor which has four configurable relays and a two-wire 4-20 mA signal output. The ultrasonic sensor reliably monitors the belt and the signals the VFD to stop the conveyor. Flowline is reliable level measurement.

Concrete Chemical Mix Tank Radar Level Measurement

When Fred Hutch Cancer Research Center needed reliable level measurement of their RO water storage tanks, they turned to Flowline. Jacksonville Zoo Pool Exhibit Ultrasonic Level Measurement

When the Jacksonville Zoo needed reliable level measurement of their exhibit water features, they turned to Flowline.
