We just finished hosting the Lake Orion Hydra Dragons FTC #23623 FIRST Robotics team! In their tour, they got to learn about how Team PTI uses robotics in manufacturing. They even got hands on experience programming one of our robots.

And yes, they were given snacks. 😉

But if you haven't heard of FIRST robotics, its the world’s leading youth robotics community, delivering youth robotics competitions that inspire innovation, build confidence, and prepare young people for life.

Team PTI hosted a tour for the Stevenson High School MADE Academy's 10th grade fabrication students this week! The MADE Academy - Manufacturing Automation Design Engineering - is a four-year academy where students connect core academics with advanced manufacturing, automation, fabrication, and design engineering through project-based work and industry partnerships. The students toured our in-house tooling center to learn about mold design, build and maintenance. A great group of students and the future of manufacturing professionals in Macomb County!

We just received some amazing feedback from the students that toured our facility during MFG Day. 😀

Q: What was the most interesting thing you saw or heard today?
A: Seeing all the automated robots move without human interaction fascinated me.
A: Seeing the robots move and do factory work looked really cool! I’ve always wanted to see robots in action!
A: Seeing how big machines were cool.
A: How they actually create the products.

Q: Is there anything you would recommend to improve the experience?
A: Only thing I would say is that our trip was short I would’ve loved getting more in depth with the tour.
A: More presenting of info on injection molding
A: More stations
A: give me food 😂

Q: Do you have a message to share with the company that you visited today?
A: I really appreciate everything that you guys did for us, I really enjoyed my time at PTI and am really interested in manufacturing now! The tour was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful answering all questions.
A: you guys are very clean and organized and have a very nice work environment.
A: You guys are doing a very important and amazing job!
A: Would love to work here!

It's Employee Appreciation day at PTI! Twice a year we celebrate the hard work of all of our employees with recognition of years of service, a catered lunch and...co****le!

Team PTI has 26 employees celebrating 5 years or more of service this quarter. 18 of those have 10 or more years of service. A testament to employee retention. 😀

Also, for the fourth year in a row, Team PTI runs a 8-week-long, friendly competition called Co****le Camaraderie. Each week, each player gets paired with a different player from a different department to play co****le together. The best part about this, is that many times (with hundreds of employees), you can get paired with someone you never met and it's the perfect opportunity to get to know a coworker that you might not have otherwise.

After weeks of this, players get ranked and the top 16 play until only one team remains. This years winners are John and Tim. 👏
