July 2026 gave our family of artisans at CR Bronzeworks and Eagle Foundry, the privilege of working on several truly meaningful bronze projects. Two, in particular, stand out—not only because of their size and craftsmanship, but because of the stories and people they represent.
The first was a large bronze 9/11 Memorial Plaque, created to honor the firefighters, EMS personnel, police officers, and all those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
The plaque carries a powerful message of remembrance:
"With gratitude, we dedicate this plaque to the Firefighters, EMS Personnel, and Police Officers who died while trying to save lives, and to the memory of all who perished in the World Trade Center Towers, the Pentagon, and aboard United Flight 93.
As they all died together, may we rise together to be the best of who we can be by remembering their sacrifice, courage, and compassion.
Donated by the Speece Family in memory of Austin."
Our second project was created for Brigham Young University, where we had the opportunity to cast two large bronze dedication plaques commemorating the installation of a remarkable new bell in the university's iconic Centennial Carillon Bell Tower.
As part of BYU's sesquicentennial celebration, the university added a massive 3.5-ton B-flat Bourdon bell to the tower—an impressive addition to a landmark that has been part of the university's identity for generations.
Projects like these are a meaningful reminder of why we do what we do. Bronze has a remarkable ability to preserve words, memories, and stories for generations. We are grateful to have played a small part in creating these lasting pieces and honored that our craftsmanship will be part of these important places and moments for years to come.
From the foundry to the finished plaque, every piece tells a story.
