Another deck transformation wrapped up! 🔨
We gave this lakefront deck a major upgrade, replacing the old painted wood decking with new Trex composite decking for a cleaner look and much lower maintenance.
This project went beyond just replacing the deck boards. We also replaced deteriorated sections of the framing, installed new stair stringers, rebuilt the handrails, and finished the stairs with picture-framed Trex treads and risers. We also added a Trex drink ledge across the top of the handrails to tie everything together.
You’ll notice the railings aren’t completely finished in these photos. Since the new handrails are built with pressure-treated lumber, they need time to properly dry before they can be painted. At the homeowner’s request, we’re leaving the balusters off for now to make painting easier. Once everything has had time to dry and is painted, we’ll come back and reinstall all of the balusters to finish it off.
Really happy with how this one turned out — and that lake view isn’t too bad either! 👌
